14. And You?

CHAPTER 14- And You? ]

Demi's POV

Jake swallowed hard and stepped forward with his hand extended politely.

"Hello Sir... Yeah, my name is Jake."

Eddie nodded, then shook the hand offered to him once before turning to me, "Hey Dems."

I smiled, and hugged him, "Hey Eddie." As we embraced, I leaned up to his ear, "Be nice. He's... important."

As we pulled away he nodded once, "So, anyone hungry?"

Jake nodded immediately and I almost laughed at his attempt to please my stepfather.

"Yeah, I could eat." I chimed in, earning at look of gratitude from Jake.

Eddie clapped his hands, "Let's get this show on the road then!"

"That wasn't so bad." Jake said, taking my hand as we left my parents house.

"Yeah, my mom absolutely adores you." I giggled, and Jake smiled nervously.

"And your dad?"

I shrugged, "Well given my previous relationship endings it's understandable for him to be protective, but he'll come around."

Jake paused as we reached the car, pressing me against it with his lips inches from mine, "And you?"

His voice was soft, curious.

"I think you'll have to wait a bit for that one." I giggled, poking his chest and pecking his lips.

Jake opened my door, "I look forward to it."

The next day I woke up next to Jake. I'd convinced him to stay for a while and watch movies but there wasn't much movie watching and we fell asleep talking. Snuggled up to his side, I felt as though I could lie here forever. Soon, his body shifted and I felt his lips on my cheek.

"Goodmorning." I murmured, turning in his arms so my head was laying on his chest.

"Hi." He smiled widely, "You're such a little shit with your plotting to get me to spend the night here."

I giggled and intertwined our fingers, "It wasn't that bad, was it?"

He smiled, and leaned up to kiss me, "I love being with you. But-"

"You don't wanna go too fast. I know." I finished for him, with a roll of my eyes.

"Hey." Jake murmured, "Don't be like that." He pulled me closer to his chest, "I respect you too much. "

I nodded, "Well what do you want to do today?"

With a smile he pressed his lips hungrily to mine.
