CHAPTER 12- We did it!

Demi's POV

"What the hell is he doing here?!"

I sighed, "Nothing, just saying that he's gonna leave us alone."

Jake shook his head, "You're lying. Demi, what did he say? What did he tell you?!"

I stepped back from him, anger of my own growing, "What does it matter Jake?! It doesn't matter what he said! Unless there's something I should know?!"

He shook his head, "He's your ex fucking boyfriend of course I want to know what he said!"

I didn't know why, but I somehow felt the urge to defend Wilmer. "Jake he's not a bad guy he just made a mistake! I don't know why you're getting so worked up about this?!"

We were both fuming, "Well if he's not a fucking bad guy why don't you go date him since you obviously have a problem with me asking about you guys!"

With a groan, I put my head in my hands and rubbed my face, "Can we just stop shouting for a second?" Jake closed his mouth and crossed him arms over his chest. "Do you not trust me?"

His expression went angry again, "It's him I don't trust. He's obviously still in love with you Demi. And he's tried to get you back before. So forgive me if I get a little angry at him showing up at your house and you not telling me what he said!"

I sighed, and stepped forward to place my hand on his cheek, "I need you to trust me on this. It was nothing, I have no feelings for him and nothing he says can change the way I feel about you or him."

Jake met my eyes and nodded, "I'm sorry for yelling... It's just I don't want to lose you. The thought just kind of freaks me out. Can we try again?"

With a small smile, I allowed him to walk out and shut the door. Seconds later, a knock sounded and I opened it. Jake lifted his head and put on my favorite crooked smile.

"Ready?"

I giggled, and grabbed my purse, "Let's go."

Jake pulled up to a big building and I frowned as I read the sign and cocked an eyebrow, "The batting cages?"

He nodded, "C'mon, it'll be fun."

"But I don't even know how to hit." I whined, causing Jake to chuckle.

"I'm sure we can figure something out." We got out of the car and after Jake paid for a few rounds, walked into the cage.

"Okay so you hold it like this and when the ball comes, swing like this." Jake explained, positioning my hands on the bat. I nodded, and stepped forward.

"Okay so the balls going to come at you through that tube-" I squealed and jumped back as a baseball came flying at me.

"That's so fucking sca-AHHH!" Another come came shooting at me.

"Jakeee." I whined, and he came into the cage, obviously trying to contain his laughter.

"Here, I'll help you." He stood behind me and wrapped his arms around so our hands were overlapping on the bat.

"Ready?" I nodded, and Jake stepped forward, lifting the bat to our shoulders. As the ball came hurling at us, he swung with one easy stroke and it was sent flying.

"You did it!" I giggled, dropping the bat and hugging him.

Jake chuckled and pressed his lips to mine.

"We did it."
