                                              CHAPTER 16- Calm
                          Demi's POV 
                                      "Jake!" I yelled, grabbing his arm as he went at the reporter again. "Stop. He's not worth it." I murmured i his ear, pulling him into the restaurant. 
                          "Are you okay?" He growled, pressing me against the wall and looking into my eyes. 
                          "Y-Yeah... I'm fine." Although the situation was entirely inappropriate, I could feel myself getting turned n at the new protective side of Jake. Of course he'd always been attractive and yes there'd been times when I wanted to rip his clothes off, but now a spark of desire was ignited in me, and I didn't know how long it would burn for. 
                          "You're absolutely perfect in everyway Demi. You know that they're dead wrong. Right?" I kept my eyes down and nodded.
                          "Demi. Look at me." 
                          Slowly, my eyes made it to his, "You're beautiful. Okay?" 
                          I nodded, "I'm sorry, they just know how to push me." 
                          Jake smiled, and kissed my forehead, "Let's just forget about them, okay? 
                          ~*~
                                       "Come on. You pay for everything." I countered, holding the black envelope that contained the check to my chest. 
                          "Demi. Don't even think about it." He said with a fake smile, tugging gently at the check. 
                          "No! You pay for everything!" 
                          "Oh well. I want to pay." He tugged again, but I grabbed it back. 
                          "No."
                          Then, the waitress came over, "Can I take the check now?" 
                          In a fluid motion, I slid my card in and handed her the check. "Thanks!" 
                          If looks could kill, I'd be on my last cat life. "I can't believe you." Jake huffed. 
                          I just shrugged, "It's not that big of a deal. Next time, if you grab the check first, you can pay!" 
                          When she gave me my card back, Jake stood. "Let's go." 
                                 All of thew paparazzi had been cleared by security so as we waited for our car it was silent. Another shudder wracked my body and I felt a warm jacket being wrapped around my shoulders by Jake. 
                          "Thanks." I murmured, leaning into his side. 
                          He kissed the side of temple, "Don't think this means I'm not still mad at you." Jake murmured with humor in his voice.
