IV.

as you headed to the university, you keep on thinking of kaneki. he seemed different in a way, but you didn't know how to describe it. you also wanted to believe the person or ghoul, whatever from last night was him.

you sighed, telling yourself to stop right now or else you wouldn't be able to focus in your classes today.

you were passing the courtyard when you saw hide sitting alone looking at a flyer. for a second you thought he might be looking at the missing poster of kaneki.

you decide to go over to him, as you did you felt a little nervous. you've really never talked to hide. and at the thought of that you were shocked that you even managed to talk to and have a conversation with kaneki.

you shook your head, thinking that hide you knew was a good person by how he acted around kaneki. he was sweet and opened to talking to people. pretty much the opposite of kaneki, yet somehow the two of them fit so well together.

"hello," you say with a soft tone as you stop in front of him. he turns his head from the flyer to you.

"hi, can i help you?" he looks at you with big eyes. he really did look handsome close up.

"oh not really, i was just wondering what you were looking at. the flyer i mean."

"oh this!" he picks it up. "it's the flyer for the autumn festival being held here," he explained. he seemed super excited. you remember last time a festival was here he was helping all around. you thought it was so cool how passionate he was about it.

"oh i forgot that was happening," you said being honest. you couldn't believe how fast time had pasted.

"ahaha, me too. until i saw people putting the flyers up." he said giving the cutest laugh ever.

"will you be helping again?" you asked.

"yeah, i will be! it seems like fun," he spoke with such positive energy. it made you happy, almost as if he were the sun shining on you, and if he was his hair color sure matched.

"what about you?"

"me? haha, i'm not sure. would you recommend it?"

"yeah! it's lots of fun helping out, and seeing all the different things going on."

"hmm, maybe i will." you whispered. you then looked at your phone, seeing the time you realized your class was about to start.

"well i better get going, bye~." you said with a grin. and just as you started turning around he stopped you.

"wait, i'm nagachika, hideyoshi. what's your name?"

"oh i'm l/n, y/n."

"nice to meet you." he beamed.

"likewise," you said before heading off.

as class went on, the thought of what happened last night wasn't on your mind. the festival was, you had never really been into that kind of stuff, but maybe that could change.

last festival you went, but only because some of your friends dragged you in. and at the end of the day you really enjoyed yourself. but the best was of course the food. you went around tasting almost everything they had. and all of it was delicious. but also the play that was performed was pretty damn cool.

it was a dark horror story about samurai's. at the end almost all that characters had been killed off. now thinking back on it, you bet kaneki would've liked it. he was into reading that kind of stuff.

then that reminded you, you wanted to go to the bookstore and try to read some new books. horror was on your mind, the type kaneki likes.

when all your classes ended, you decide to go to the big bookstore not so far away from the university. as you walked out of the university grounds, you saw the the flyer earlier that hide had. you picked one up and left.
