VII.

yet another day had come and you were headed to the cafe again, simply because you forgot to buy coffee at the market the other day. you sighed thinking it was a bad thing, until you thought there was a high possibility of seeing kaneki.

you headed your way there, all wrapped up in a fancy coat, slightly rushing to the cafe in your short heels, in which you never wore, but today was an occasion. or so you told yourself.

the wind hit you a few times, messing up your hair slightly, which wasn't the unusual for you, it was always a mess anyways. your heels hit the pavement, making a click sound, you always found such sound pleasing.

you walked in, somewhat out of breath, you looked up to see the purple haired girl again, she greeted you and gave you a menu. you sat down taking out the book you bought yesterday, recommended by the fabulous stranger.

you waited for a little, time spent reading the book. your fingers flipped to the next page, hands feeling the whole book. you hated but loved how this book felt so special, knowing maybe you could connect with kaneki over it. and honestly the thought of it made your cheeks a light pink.

finally someone came up to you to order, it was again the purple haired girl. this time you took in what she looked like, her features. she was very beautiful, and seemed mature for what her age might be. she eyes a dark violet color, yet her hair was covering the one side, lips a rosy light pink. in one word she was : stunning.

kaneki's lucky he's working with such a beauty, of course it made you kinda jealous, but not really at the same time.

"what would you like to order?" she asked with a small smile.

"i'll take a black coffee," you answered putting the book down.

"alright, i'll be right back with that." she said then walked away.

you then glanced around, seeing if kaneki was any where. but you couldn't find him, so giving up you picked back up the book.

a short time passed, and the girl came back with your black coffee.

"thank you," you said. she bowed and started walking away. and your curiosity got the best of you.

"um. . . excuse me," you called to her. she turned around, making direct eye contact with you.

"yes?"

"i wanted to ask about an employee, umm . . . kaneki ken."

she raised a drow, wandering why someone would ask about him. especially a unknown girl, kaneki had never mentioned any female to her. only ever hide.

"what about him?" she bit her bottom lip.

"well, does he work here all the time?,

"yes," she became more suspicious of you.

"is he off today?"

"no, he just has a later shift."

"oh i see, thank you."

"no problem, enjoy." she said before continuing to walk off. thoughts ran in her head about who the hell you might be, and do you mean something to him.

she walked up to mr. yoshimura, "when's kaneki's shift?"

"oh touka, well it's in the next hour. why? something wrong?"

"ahaha, no sir. nothing." she laughed nervously as she grabbed the coffee that was waiting for her to bring to the next costumer.

you continued reading and started drinking the coffee, as like yesterday it was lovely. you glanced at the clock wander the time and saw it was time to leave for the university. you finished up and left.

as you hurried to the class, not paying any attention at all to the view in front of you, you hit someone hard in the chest.

you were too clumsy for your own good these days.

you hit the floor and your butt start hurting. "ah! i am so sorry!" you put your head down.

"oh no! i should apologize, i wasn't watching where i was going," a similar voice apologized. you look up to see a guilty faced hide.

you start laughing. "wha- why are you laughing-" he said flustered.

"i wasn't paying attention either, i apologize too," you smiled at him.

he puts his hand out, and you take it. his hand was slightly rough, maybe because he was helping with the festival already. "must be working," you brush yourself off.

"oh, yes of course!" he beams.

"hide?"

"yes?"

"i'd like to sign up to help with the festival."

omg,,, i finaLLY wrote another chapter. sorry this was lowkey kinda a filler/not. some of these have been filler/not in my mind (?).

but i hope everyone is liking the slow pace of the story. tell me if you are or not,, i'd love to know.
