the rain hits the ground harshly and thunder roars aloud. moon light shines through the thick clouds in the midnight sky.
the street is bare as everyone has found a place to keep shelter from the harsh weather.
your waiting for him to arrive, but he's already twenty minutes late. frowning, you hug yourself and try to get closer to the wall behind you. the awning isn't big enough to cover just one person, yet you try to manage.
a shiver rums down your spine, anxiety rises in you as more time passes. he's still hasn't come.
biting the bottom lip, you begin to say a little prayer, something you don't do so often. religion is really something you don't concern yourself with, but at times like so you pray.
pray he makes it back. that he'll run up to you any second and give you a sweet smile and a soft apology.
you close your eyes for a second, to pray.
when you open them, you see him in front of you.
his head is tilted down, yet his crimson eye glances at you. his other is closed shut, gritting his teeth.
he's struggling as he holds his right side with both hands, blood covering them.
your eyes widen as you take in more of the picture in front of you. he's also bleeding from his head and left arm.
suddenly he winces, causing him to hit the ground.
gasping, you start running to his side, as he tries to pick himself back up.
"kaneki! no, stop it! stay right there i'm coming!" you shout at him to stop from getting up.
he looks up at you, his eye practically begging for help. his pained face forms tears in your eyes.
what happened kaneki? what did you get yourself into?
as you get closer, you open your arms out to him. once you reach him, you stumble to the ground and pull him into your embrace.
"kaneki . . ."
