Gabriel found himself waking up again. He had no clue what time it was but didn't fully care. He wasn't as tired as he was the day before, being able to realize that there was bandages on his lower stomach too. He must've been beaten up pretty badly to be like this.

He was able to remember more. He remembers leaving Asmodeus and helping Castiel with.....something, with......healing the.......Winchesters or.......something, and........passing out. He doesn't remember the rest.

Gabriel took a moment to stretch his sore wings. "Don't knock over your barf bowl." Dean said casually. "That would be smart." He responded. Gabriel laid on his stomach because it didn't hurt that bad. "Do you know what happened?" Dean asked watching him. "I wish I do, but I don't remember anything that happened after I talked to Cas." He didn't want to mention that he passed out after healing them because that would give a sign that he was already weak before the injuries. He didn't want to talk or think about what had happened before.

"Cas seems extremely protective over you." Dean said changing the subject. "Why would you think that? Just a couple of weeks ago he was being kinda rude to me."

"Gabriel, you weren't awake a couple of weeks ago."

"A couple of weeks before I was taking a death break."

"A death break?" Dean asked laughing. "Yeah, don't mind me, just died. Don't worry it's not the first time." Gabe joked, and Dean rolled his eyes, "be careful for what you wish for."

"Ew, if I die I would want to stay dead."

"Why?"

"Because I don't need this."

"Need what?"

"Life."

"You need life to be living."

"Exactly, you need life to be living, but if I am dead I won't need life."

"You are so confusing."

"It's a blessing." Gabriel joked rolling slightly to take the pressure off of his stomach. "Can you kill me?" Gabe asked suddenly. "Why would you ask a crazy question like that?" Dean asked looking at him confused. Probably since they had a weird conversation right before that. "Everything hurts." Gabriel said shoving his face into the pillows. "That tends to happen when you get stabbed and burned repeatedly."

"Why?"

"Well, god decided that he hates everyone and will make everything hurt and be like hell."

"Yeah, that sounds about right."

Gabriel forced his eyes open later on. He doesn't remember going to sleep at all; he wasn't aware of it until he woke up. Sleep was weird, you close your eyes for two minutes and it's been five hours.

He looked around the room, which he always does after he wakes up to make sure that he's not back in hell, and found Sam. "Samshine," Gabe said happily. Sam jumped, seemingly forgetting that he wasn't alone in his room, and looked at the angel on his bed. "Good, you're awake."

"That's not the first time someone said that to me in the past two days."

"I mean, with how much you sleep for being an angel, it's very worrisome."

"I kinda enjoy sleeping, it's like being dead."

Sam looked at him concerned but changed the subject. "Would it be alright if I checked your wounds? It would be weird to do it while you're sleeping."

"Sure, Samoose."

"What's up with you and all the nicknames all of a sudden?"

"I don't know, but there's a lot of things you can but with your name, Samster." Sam rolled his eyes and slowly started taking the bandages off of one of the wings. "So, how have you've been feeling?" Sam asked, probably trying to make some type of conversation that won't end weirdly. "Like I'm the new Lucifer and crawled out of the fiery pits of hell." Gabriel grumbled.

Suddenly he hissed in pain and pulled the wing to his side. "Sorry." Sam apologized quietly. "That one seems to be doing a lot better though." Gabriel curiously turned to look at the injury. "That doesn't seem like a lot better." Gabe said. "Trust me, at first we could see what was on the other side." Sam said pulling the wing back and replacing the bandages before starting on another one.
