"There's no way we're getting in there

"There's no way we're getting in there. We'll be dead in two seconds." Uncle Epps said as he looked through his binoculars.

"We don't have a choice." I signed to him.

"I know, I'm just saying we need a different plan. NEST must've sent in some kind of drone, hell, maybe all of them. We can go recon and see if we can find one and get it working." He said and I nodded.

"I'll go ahead, ditch the cars. Stay low and out of sight from the skies. We'll move in increments, I'll scout, you move, then repeat. Any objections?" I signed and Uncle Epps shook his head before relaying the plan to everyone else and asking for objections. No one bitched out so we geared up and found a place out of sight. They found a cave-like hole in the rubble of a building. Once they were situated I materialized my helmet again and turned on my active camo. Ships were flying by overhead and I had to stay put and watch as innocent people were vaporized. These monsters will pay. Sentinel will pay for what he's done. He betrayed us, his own race, and he has betrayed the future of Cybertron. Both unforgivable feats that he will die for. Don't get me started on Megatron. The more I thought about it, the angrier I got. My mind was focused on one two things right now. Get Carly out safely and then kill the red bastard who almost killed my Dad and has decimated almost half the population of Chicago by now. Nothing else mattered until both things were done. I finished scouting out the next section and I hurried back to my Uncle Epps and the others. I stepped into the hole and disengaged my camo.

"Holy shit!" Uncle Epps yelled and held his hand over his chest.

"Sorry." I signed.

"It's alright, damn. What's it look like?" He asked.

"There's a drone at the bridge and we can make it there if we stay in the buildings. They're mostly patrolling the streets by air so if we stay beneath something we should be able to move forward." I told him and he nodded. He grabbed his gun and motioned for the others to follow us and we moved outside. In front of us was an overpass and people were running away from the city. I went to walk and my knees went weak. I stumbled and Sam held me up.

"Jesus, are you alright?" He asked and I nodded. I stood up again and felt emotions that weren't mine. Rage and agony flew through both of my bonds and it was overwhelming.

"Wait, where are the bots?" I signed to Uncle Epps.

"You don't know?" He asked surprised. I looked at him weirdly and he shared a look with Sam. Sam responded with a confused expression and Uncle Epps sighed.

"They're dead. Starscream blew up the Xanthium before it left the atmosphere. I'm sorry." He said and set a hand on my shoulder. My face scrunched up and I stared at him. That can't be right.

My thoughts were interrupted by a ship vaporizing the people running down the road. We all ducked in cover and hid before hearing an explosion. We poked our heads out and I looked up to see both my Dad and my mate. They both looked pissed off beyond belief.
