(Sam's POV)
The song Cool Kids by Echosmith came on the radio when Kian turned it on. It's one of my favorites, mostly because it is relatable. I was bullied as a child in school, and Kian stood up for me. That's how we became friends. I like listening to it because it reminds me that Kian will always be there for me, no matter what.
I nodded my head along, and Kian took notice. "You like this song?" he asked, turning it up for me. I smile and nod. Kian suddenly begins to scream the words at the top of his lungs.
"I WISH THAT I COULD BE LIKE THE COOL KIDS!" He screams out the window, causing some bystanders to laugh.
"Kian, people are staring.." I say, looking around at all the attention he's brought upon us.
"I dont care! It's your favorite song, so I'm gonna sing it. For you!" he shouts over the blasting music.
What the hell? Did he just say that? For You.
He's just doing it to make me feel better, right?
He's just my best friend, that's all.
Oh, how I wish there was more.
The song ends, and Kian smiles at me, almost hitting a car, but swerving at the last second.
"Oh, shit."
Kian just laughs at his mistake and then looks back at me.
He catches me noticing and immediately turns back to the road. That was weird. We pull up to the parking lot next to the cruise ship dock. There we see Jc and Lia get out of their car, and wave at us.
Kian and I wave back at them as he parks in the nearest spot to them. Jc runs to Kian's window and smiles.
"Kiiiiiaannnnnn! What's up bro?!" he yells.
Jc doesn't acknowledge my existence quite often.
No one really does.
Except for Kian.
And that is why I love him.
Lia comes up behind Jc and rests her head on his shoulder.
"Nothin much, bro," Kian says in the most stereotypical straight white boy voice possible. I roll my eyes. I don't like that Kian. I like the Kian that's sweet as hell but on the other hand is an annoying little shit that just wants to make you laugh. That Kian is my favorite. That Kian is my best friend. That Kian is the one I fell in love with, not this one. This Kian is the one he is only around Jc, and it's annoying. As if he's replaced me as his best friend with Jc. Has he?
"Yay! Here's the boat now!" Lia jumps up and down pointing at the cruise ship coming towards the dock. I open my door and get out and stand next to them, and Kian follows.
"Heyyyyy!" Trevor screams, getting out of his limo. He's so pretentious.
"Did you really have to bring the limo?" Ricky asks, approaching us from the over direction.
"Hey Rickers, how ya doin'?" Kian asks. I just stand there awkwardly, looking down at my Vans and I stand on my heels. I'm not the most social person, especially in this group. Sometimes I think I'm invisible to them.
Kian suddenly puts his arm around my neck, smiling. I blush instantly.
"C'mon Little Sammers, lets get this thing started!" he shouts, walking with me, still with his arm aroud my neck.
I'm too dumbfounded to utter a single syllable at this point. Why the hell is his arm around my neck?! Oh my god, is this real life?
I have fangirl attacks way too much with Kian.
The captain walks to the edge of the boat and extends the drawbridge for us to get on.
"So, you guys must be Our2ndLife?" he asks, cupping his hand on his forehead to block out the sun and see us.
"Yes, that's us." Kian answers.
"Welcome abord," the captain says, gesturing for us to get on.
Here we go.
