The rain drips down my soft, black fur. I could transform into a water type, but I enjoy the way it rolls over my skin, it feels real, real and simple. The pattering noise sticks in my head, a soothing sound for a calm day. I enjoy the rain quite a bit, it's relaxing and usually means less people are out and about.
After a few minutes, it slows down and stops. I shake the droplets out of my fur, onto the already wet ground. Speaking of water, I'm thirsty. I glance around, scanning for a clean puddle, but it's all tainted by dirt. To the city it is. Might as well grab some food while I'm there. I take a step forward, but my paw sinks into a puddle, grime soaking into the pads on my feet. I huff and shake my paw around, attempting to clean it to at least some extent. After a few minutes of that, my paw dries off and I take a step foreword, completely forgetting about the puddle. Being unlucky me, I slip and soak my whole body. "Umb" I mumble.

My eyes dart around the alley, keeping an eye out for anyone who might wander by. After throughly making sure no one would spot me, I take a deep breath and begin to shift into a human. I would much rather stay a Pokémon, but I can't waltz up to the counter and ask for food on four legs. Shifting is mostly painless, though it can be quite terrifying to watch. After all, magic or not, my spine is very much changing shape.
I stare down at my clothes. Tight black shorts, a black tank top, and a black baseball cap with a yellow ring on the front. The clothes that appear always suit my needs. Despite the rain, it is quite warm, so I got these. Simple. I like it.
I walk into the restaurant, and avoid any eye contact. Humans creep me out. Well, I am one, almost. Just not quite. It doesn't help that my eyes are slightly red. Well, they aren't always red, but I was just an umbreon, and I shifted rather quickly, so...
I sit myself at a table and bury my face in the menu, so I wouldn't accidentally make eye contact. With a tap on my shoulder, an annoying high-pitched voice says "Hello? What are you ordering? hurry up"
I scowl and look up "Will you give me a minute?"
She looks into my eyes and takes a step back "Uh, s-sure"
I stare at the menu "Oran swirls"
She nods and scurries away. Suddenly, a tall boy with silver looking hair and blue eyes asks "Can I sit here? There's no other spots to sit..."
I roll my eyes, not meeting his eyes purposely. "Fine" I'm very antisocial if you haven't noticed.
"Thanks!" he said with a grin. He obviously didn't notice me rolling my eyes. "My name is Silver"
"That's nice" I state, my voice overflowing with sarcasm.
He scowls "well what's your name?"
"Kitty" I spat. I might as well get it out.
There was on odd silence. I was glad when my food arrived. Scarfing it down, I stand up. "Wait" silver says " can I come on your journey with you? I mean, I've already traveled the entire region but, some company would be nice. I'm looking for an, er, escaped lab experiment and I could use some help... And company..."
Something about escaped lab experiment made me feel odd. "Uh, sorry"
"But, you're a trainer, and you don't have anyone to travel with..."
"I'm sorry, I'm not interested." I mumble, looking at the wall.
"But, every trainer needs a traveling partner anyways!"
"I never said I was a trainer..."
"Come on, Kitty, of course you're a-"
"Don't call me that!"
"But that's your name!"
"Just, leave me alone-"
"But, Kiiiiittttyyyyyyy-"
I whip around, a murderous look in my eyes. "I am not a trainer. Now get out of my sight, human." I growl, clenching a fork in my right hand.
He jumped back, looking terrified at my sudden hostility. Slamming the fork onto the table, making it rattle, I storm out and slam some poké on the front counter, ignoring the strange looks I was getting. As soon as I was out of vision, I shifted into an espeon, breathing a sigh of relief. That was stressful. Padding over to a tree, I lay down. The leafy shade feels nice. A soft rustling reaches my ears and I shrug it off. Then, I catch a sickeningly familiar voice whisper "A wild espeon..."
•
I bare my teeth at the massive orange dragon in front of me. Charizard. It shoots a flamethrower at me. I clumsily dodge, earning myself a burn. Talk about unfair... I don't have much training as an espeon. I retaliate with psybeam. It easily dodges and launches another flamethrower. This time I was less lucky. It hit me strait on, leaving my vision spinning, red blotches floating in the sky. After regaining my balance, I catch a glimpse of Silver throwing something, right before an unnatural red light surrounds me.
Yay! This is the longest chapter I've ever wrote!! it's still short but... that seemed like the natural ending spot. Anyways, this chapter is dedicated to xXfrozen_heartXx. She is awesome!
