I Hate Being the New Girl.
Whether it's being the new girl in town, school, or anything really. It just sucks.
And on this fine day, I was about to become the new girl in Australia. Brilliant.
I stepped out of the car into the cool July air. My brother and dad jumped out to. I inhaled a sharp breath as I stared at the house. This could not be real. The house was down straight amazing. From the front view I could see that it had 2 storeys. I could see 3 bedrooms, a lounge and a kitchen. There was a gorgeous garden at the front of the house to, with apple trees and rose bushes. There was a small pond too, but it was frozen over due to the weather. I walked up the driveway dragging my blue suitcases behind me. I walked up to the burgundy door and turned the freezing doorknob to open the door. I stepped inside. To my right was a black marble kitchen with an island , and to my left was a rustic lounge with black leather sofas and a stone fireplace. I walked straight a head and found a bathroom, and a mini gym with a treadmill, a yoga mat and some weights. I walked out of that room to a glass door leading outside where there was a frozen pool, a covered hot tub and a little gazebo. This house was amazing. And this was only the downstairs. I rushed upstairs, nabbing the biggest room with an en suite. The bedroom had 3 floor to roof windows, facing across the street. The house across from us wasn't very far, so i could see into the window. I walked over to the bed, and plonked myself down. I was so tired. I took of my converse and jacket and jumped right into bed to take a nap.
My phone alarm woke me up an hour later, with "who are you now" by Sleeping with Sirens playing at full volume. I turned it off and got up. I walked over to the window and stretched. I noticed the beautiful snowflakes drifting past my window, no one snowflake the same as the other. I walked over to my drawers to grab some more comfortable clothes to get changed into. I peeled off my clothes so that i was only in my bra and underwear. I turned a little to grab my sweats and noticed someone staring at me from the window across the street. It was a boy my age with blonde hair in a quiff. He was gorgeous. Then i realised that i still wasn't wearing anything and quickly closed the curtains. I sighed and got dressed.
Once i was done i grabbed my phone to check my mentions on twitter, when i heard my dad yelling from downstairs.
"Yeah dad?" I yelled, opening my door and walking down the stairs.
"Were going to go across the street. Go get dressed nicer. Be quick" He sighed, looking at what i was wearing.
I jogged back upstairs and threw off the crop top and sweats that i had just put on a minute ago. I made sure that this time my curtains were closed. I can't believe i have to go and meet the neighbour who was just staring at me almost naked. I'm such an embarrassment. And its only the first day.
I put on some black skinny jeans, A cream jumper and my black vans. I straightened my mocha brown curly hair and put it into a messy bun. I put on some mascara, lip gloss and concealer, trying to use the least makeup i could without looking like a mess. I grabbed my phone and walked downstairs.
"Thats better" My dad said. I shot him a small glare and he chuckled.
"Lets just go" I huffed.
"We have to wait for Jake first. JAKE HURRY UP!" He yelled.
"I'M COMING" Jake yelled back. He came running downstairs with his platinum blonde hair mostly in a grey beanie, wearing bleck skinny jeans, a band band tee and black converse.
"lets go" I said, leading the way out the door.
I stepped out the door and started to make my way across the street. To be completely honest, I was amazingly nervous. I didn't know what i was going to do if that boy brought up the window situation earlier.
I walked across the street with my dad and Jake in tow. I knocked on the door and a boy with blue died hair answered with a smile.
"Hi! You guys must be the new neighbours. I'm Michael." His mum stepped into the door frame beside him.
"And i'm Mrs. Clifford. Nice to meet you all" She said with a smile.
"Hi i'm um - " I stopped in the middle of my sentence. I completely forgot what i was going to say. Luckily my brother stepped in.
"Hi i'm Jake, This is my dad and that's Alyssa. Its a pleasure to meet you" Oh Jake and his ability to charm people when he feels like it.
"The pleasure is all ours. Come in" Mrs. Clifford said with a grin.
Michael looked from Jake to me, then ushered us upstairs with him. We followed him like obedient sheep. He lead us up the stairs and into a room with 3 boys in it. One with black hair, one with brown curly hair and one with blonde hair... The guy from earlier. Great.
"Hey guys" Michael said in his Australian accent. "These are my new neighbours, Alyssa and Jake"
"H-hi" I stammered, waving. I noticed that even when Jake introduced himself, their eyes were still glued to me. Awkward.
"Well, I'm Calum" The black haired boy said; "This is Ashton" He said pointing to the brunette "And this is Luke" He said nodding towards the blonde one.
Me and Luke stared at each other. Jake went to sit next to Luke so i had to sit next to Ashton. We didn't break the stare.
I noticed that Luke had these gorgeous deep blue eyes. I felt awkward having such a horrible grey eye colour compared to his amazing one. I could stare at his eyes all day. Ashton broke the silence.
"So, what school are you guys going to?" He asked, smiling. Ashton had cute little dimples. I poked one and he giggled.
"We're starting at St Marys on Monday" I said shyly. I happen to be quite quiet before you get to know me.
"We go there too. I guess we'll see you two there" Calum said. Luke still hadn't said a word. My dad called us from downstairs saying it was time to go.
"This was.. interesting. Come over when ever you guys want so we can get to know each other a little better" Jake said, grinning.
"Sure" Luke said with a slight smile, looking at me yet again.
"Well we better go now. Nice meeting you guys" I said an left the room.
As we were walking back across the street to our house, Jake nudged me.
"I swear Luke has a thing for you. He couldn't take his eyes off of you once" He chuckled.
"Maybe" I giggled as we walked inside. It was getting late. "I'm Gonna head upstairs to bed now. Goodnight" I called and walked upstairs.
What if he does have a thing for me? I wondered. I walked into my room Put on my pajamas. I guess it was a bonus to have such a cute neighbour with gorgeous friends. This might not be as bad as I thought.
