Soon morning came and everyone was up. Mike drove us the rest of the way. When we finally reached the city, it was complete chaos. Like something you've see in a movie. I didn't know what to make of it. People were running around being chased by sicks. Shooting at anything that moved. What really scared me, was the police. Mike drove us to the blockade the police were at. People were screaming and crying. Some were even fighting the police.

"Cannot let anyone on foot into the safe place. We don't have any way to know if you are infected, so we are only taking in vehicles, because they're easier to check." The angry mob only gets louder. "It sure is crazy around here." Josh comes up behind me, with his hand extended. "Hi, I'm Josh. Of course you already know that, but hi." I smile at how adorable this kid is. Brown hair, bright blue eyes, pale skin. Just like his father. "Hi Josh and I'm Morgana." He gives me a smile back. "What happened to Anne's mom? She was such a nice lady." Sadness riddles me. "She's dead." Anne comes from behind Josh. His eyes shot open, from shock. He clearly wasn't expecting that answer. Instead of crying, like I thought, he just holds Anne in a tight embrace, mumbling words of comfort in her ear. I can tell just by looking at Anne, that she wants to cry, but she won't.

It's weird how close me and the little girl have become in only three days. I saved her life, she saved mine. No better way to bond with a child, like saving each other's ass. Note the sarcasm.

Knock! Knock!

Knocking on the door, disrupted the quiet in the RV. Mike opens the door and two police officers pile in.

"We've came to check this vehicle and everyone in it. Please comply with us and line up in single file." We do as we're told, lining up, side by side. One officer searched our things while the other searches our bodies for bite marks or any other alarming things. When the officer got to me he freezes.

"You're William's kid aren't you?" Now, getting a good look at his face, he seems familiar. "Yeah, how do you know my dad?" I question, eyebrow raised. "He helped the police department all the time before you where born. I wouldn't have given you a second glance, if you didn't look so much like him." He gives me a gentle smile. "You truly have his eyes. Such an unique green." The other officer clears his throat gaining the one in front of me attention.

"They have a shotgun, 9mm, and a revolver. Should we take these? I don't like leaving these here with so many children in one group. The lady looks like she can't pull a trigger and the man probably never shot one before." The other officer gruffs.

"Patrick, be nice. Sorry about him, he isn't very polite and has no filter." The one in front of me scratches the back of his neck. "We can leave them with the group."

"But why?" Patrick seems to be getting frustrated. I wonder if he's always like this. "Because Former Commander William's daughter is with this group. She might be a kid, but trust me. With a father like hers, she definitely has great experience with a gun." Patrick glares at me and walks out, with the other following behind. "Let them through!"

Mike goes back to the wheel, taking us inside of the safe place. Apparently, it's just a school. A big one at that. We stop in the parking lot. The van is silent, until Lucy speaks up, "I say let's go inside. Forget what I said earlier. They seem pretty secure. Besides I don't want to be stuck in here with her." All eyes fall on me. Really feeling the love guys. "Wait. Why am I voicing my opinion to children? Josh, Susan, Mike, and Anne, let's go." Lucy orders. Everyone follows, but Anne. "Anne, I said let's go." Anne balls her fists. "You're not my mother. So I get to stay and do what I-"

I cut her off, "Anne go with them." All anger seems to leave her.

"What? Why?"

"Mike and Lucy can keep you safe. Also, you're friend Josh is with them. They know how to take care of each other. You need the love of a family. Not some sick teenager." I bend to her level, placing a strand of hair behind her ear. "I am glad I had the chance to meet you, even though it was on horrible terms." We both chuckle at the memory. I pull her into a hug that she automatically returns. "Stay safe Little One." She runs up to Josh and grabs his outstretched hand. They both wave at me, leaving. Mike gives me a sweet smile, then leaves.

And that's when I realized.

I was all alone again.
