Chapter thirteen
Slightly famous
April 20th 1963
Lucy's POV:
The boys went to London and then began touring around the UK. Everywhere you went, people talked about The Beatles. It was nonstop. At work everyone was constantly asking me to sing their music because people loved them so much. I loved them too but I hadn't seen them in a week or so. I thought I was going to see Ringo when he got back. Turns out that wasn't the case. I had recently bought a record by The Beach Boys and I had fallen in love with it. Tonight I had to work and Patricia had found a job at a record store, the both of us had been pretty busy lately. I sat in my dressing room, applying makeup to my face. I knew the crowd would be pretty big, since it was a Saturday. I walked out onto the stage, hearing the crowd yell. It was usually the same people and they tipped very well. I adjusted the microphone to my height and looked to see four familiar faces. John smirked at me while Paul waved like a mad man. George nudged Ringo who looked up and he smiled. I nodded to the four of them and began singing a song, trying to ignore the fact that they were there. They were always a distraction. If any girls knew they were in here there'd be girls all over the place. I had heard that lots and lots of girls were fans of them. I noticed they had another man with them and I tried to push my thoughts to the back of my head, trying to concentrate on singing. Which I did, eventually. I had a break after about six songs and all the men handed me their tips. I stopped at their table and John said "Lucy." "Hey." I said. John hugged me, which I didn't expect. I hugged him back and he swayed me back and forth. I pulled away with a big smile on my face. Paul stood up and said "hiya." He hugged me and I said "what's with the hugs? Surely you didn't miss me." George shook his head and said "of course we did. Where's Patricia?" "She got a job at a record store. I can take you there after." I said as I pulled away from Paul. George frowned a little and said "yeah, ok." I patted his shoulder and he said "it's nice to see you, Lucy." Then there was one. Ringo stood up and I walked over to him, since he was sitting on the far end. "Hi." I said softly. "Hi." He said. He pulled me in for a hug and hugged me tightly. I leaned my head on his shoulder and his arms tightened around me. "I missed you." He whispered. It had been only a week or so and I missed him too. "I missed you too." He looked at me as I did the same. He leaned down and Paul said "Lucy, meet Brian." I looked to Paul's attention and stepped away from Ringo, feeling his arms retract from my body. "I'm Brian Epstein. I'm The Beatles manager." He said. He shook my hand and I said "hi. I'm Lucy. I'm a friend of theirs." He nodded and began telling me that the boys would be going to America next year. "So they're famous?" I asked. "Slightly famous. They're pretty known here but if we can get the American girls going crazy, they'd be worldwide sensations." Brian said. John smirked a little and said "that'd be nice wouldn't it?" George nodded and he was annoyed that Patricia wasn't here. Ringo stood next to me as Brian talked about how girls were going crazy for the boys. "You know, I haven't actually asked you guys but are you all single?" Brian asked. John looked up and said "I am." George sniggered and John eyed him. "What about you, George? Are you single?" John said with a threatening tone. George looked down and said "yeah." "Exactly." I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion and Paul put his hands in his pockets. "Ringo?" Brian said. I looked to Ringo, not knowing what we were. "No. He's single." Paul said. I looked at him and John didn't say anything. Brian looked around at all of us and said "is everything ok?" "Yeah." I said, trying not to sound down. George sighed and said "Lucy, can you give me the address to that record store? I don't wanna be here anymore." I nodded and went to grab a piece of paper out of my dressing room. As I was coming out, Paul was standing outside. "Paul-" I began but he pushed me into my dressing room and closed the door. My eyes slightly widened and I said "what're you doing?" "I have to tell you something. I didn't want to do it where he could hear me." "Who? Ringo?" I asked. "Huh? This has nothing to do with Ringo." "Then why are we in here when the door closed?" Paul caught on and said "Lucy, I'm not in love with you. Yes, I think you're absolutely beautiful but I didn't come in here to confess my feelings. I came in here to tell you that Brian doesn't know about George and Patricia and you and Ringo. He wants us to be single, so the girls will buy our records. All you have to do is keep it on the down low. And when you guys hugged, Ringo almost kissed you. That's why I cut in. And I knew Ringo wasn't going to answer that he was single. I'm sorry for giving you the wrong impression. I just don't want you guys to have to break up cause of Brian. We're all afraid of what he'd think. We don't really know him but he seems really nice. He seems like he's going to take care of us when we get famous. That's all." I stared at him and said "really?" Paul nodded and said "I just wanted to take care of you guys. Especially you. You've always been so supportive and it's only fair if we do the same." I threw my arms around Paul and he was taken aback. "Paul, that means a lot. That you'd even let me in on it." He pulled away and said "I saw how hurt you looked when I cut in. I'm sorry about that." I half smiled and said "it's fine." "All you have to do is act like close friends around Brian. That's all." Paul said as he looked in the mirror. He fixed his tie and I said "thanks, Paul." He smiled and said "of course." He walked out of the room and I wrote a note to Ringo to put in his jacket pocket. Then I took another piece of paper and wrote down the record store address. I walked back to the table and made sure I had the address paper to hand to George. "Here you go." I said. He took it and said "thanks. It was nice to see you, Lucy." I nodded to him and he left the pub. Brian was currently talking to John and I slipped the piece of paper into Ringo's jacket pocket. He looked at me questioningly and I said "it's for you." He nodded and I walked back to my dressing room, waiting on Ringo to come back here. There was a knock on the door and I opened it to see Ringo. I pulled him inside and locked the door. He said "what's up?" "Paul told me about how Brian doesn't want you guys to not be single." "It's not that he doesn't. It's just, he thinks more girls will buy our records if we're single. Which I think the girls will buy them anyway." He said. He sighed and looked in the mirror. "I look like shit." "No. Why would you say that?" "I'm tired. That's all." He turned around and looked at me, stepping closer. "Can I kiss you?" I nodded and he leaned in, pressing his lips to mine. His arms went around my waist, bringing us closer together. Our lips moved in sync and I wrapped my arms around his neck. Ringo pulled away and rested his head on my shoulder. I moved my arms around his waist and he said "I really missed you. But it has been fun, performing and stuff." "I'm glad. I want it to be fun for you." Ringo pressed a kiss to my neck and I jumped a little. He kissed my neck again and I tilted my neck a little. I felt Ringo smirk against my neck and he kissed my ticklish spot. I jumped again and he said "what's up with the jumping?" "It tickles." I said while smiling. He rolled his eyes and kissed the spot again. I giggled this time and he said "I only did that to hear you giggle." I looked at his neck and said "yours is always covered up by these shirts that you wear." Ringo took off his jacket and undid his tie. I watched as he messed up the collar on his shirt and said "there." I bit my lip and moved towards him. I stood in front of him for a few seconds and Ringo said "come on, then." I leaned up to his neck and pressed a kiss to it. Ringo held me in place since I was standing on my tip toes to reach him. I kissed his neck again, placing kisses all over. Ringo's grip on my hips got a little tighter as I kissed a certain spot. A soft moan left his lips and he tried to cover it up by kissing my neck. I kissed his sweet spot again and another moan came out. I pulled away from him and I began to fix his collar. Ringo stared at me and I re did his tie. He kissed my lips out of nowhere and I smiled into the kiss, giggling. I handed him his jacket and he slid it on his body. "You going home soon?" He asked. I nodded and he said "can I come home with you?" "You want too?" "Yeah. I missed you so much. I just wanna hold you." I blushed and he kissed my cheek. "So I'm gonna go back on stage and finish. Wait for me?" I said. Ringo nodded with a smirk, walking out. My heart fluttered a little and I smiled really big to myself.

George's POV:
I headed to the address, walking through the door. A bell ringing as I walked in. "Welcome to-" I looked over and saw Patricia at the counter. Her eyes widened and she didn't say anything. I raised my eyebrow at her and said "hey." She stared at me and said "George." I smirked a little and walked to the counter. She backed away and said "I didn't know you were coming back tonight." "Neither did Lucy. I got the jump on ya didn't I?" She didn't say anything as I replied to her. She just stared. There wasn't anyone in the store so I hopped over the counter. Patricia stumbled back a little and said "what're you doing? You're not allowed to be back here." "You gonna kick me out?" I asked. She shook her head and said "no." "Good." I replied as I leaned in to kiss her. She did the same and I pressed my lips to hers, kissing her passionately. Her arms went around my neck and I pushed her against the window, not caring if anyone saw. She pulled away and looked up at me. "George." She said breathlessly. I kissed her lips again and held her tightly. I moved to her neck and left kisses all over it. Patricia had a handful of my shirt and said "George, don't leave any marks." I pulled away and looked at her. "That's no fun." She rolled her eyes and said "don't." Her eyes adverted away from me for a second and she said "shit. My boss. Get under the counter." I turned around and she pushed me towards the counter. I got under it and Patricia said "do you want me to close?" "Yeah. And you can be back here tomorrow morning?" Her boss asked. "Sure." "Who's car is that?" Her boss was referring to my car parked outside. "Don't know." Patricia lied. I looked up at her and tugged on the bottom of her skirt. She batted my hand away and I ran my finger up her thigh, dangerously close her panties. Patricia made a weird noise and then started coughing. "I haven't been feeling good. I really need to close." She said. "Ok. You'd better be here in the morning." Her boss said. "I will." I heard the door open and close with the sound of a car driving away. I came out from under the counter and she began hitting me on the arm. "What the hell were you doing?" I laughed and said "nothing. I didn't do anything." "He could've seen that!" I rolled my eyes and said "he wouldn't of seen anything. I promise." I played with the ends of her hair and she huffed. "That was risky." She said as she walked away from me. I followed her and then saw my record in the store. I picked it up and said "Patricia." She turned around and I said "do you have it?" "Of course." "What's you're favorite song?" I asked. Patricia thought about it and said "I Saw Her Standing There." I smirked and said "ohh." She shook her head and said "come on. I'm done with work and I'm ready to go." I opened the door and held it for her, letting her walk out first. She walked out and I did the same, she locked the door and I said "I'll give you a ride home. Come on." She sighed and I unlocked my car, letting her get in. I did a u-turn and headed towards Patricia's flat. I put my hand on her thigh and she looked at me. "You're handsy." She said. "Did you expect me not to be? I haven't seen you in over a week." I replied. Patricia smiled and said "I missed you." "Did you? I thought I was the only one." She rolled her eyes once again at my reply. "No but seriously, I did miss you." I said. Patricia blushed and we arrived at her flat. I parked and she went to get out and said "come in with me." "Really?" I said. She nodded and said "come on." I got out of the the car and locked it, heading to her flat. She unlocked the door and we walked in and she pulled me to her, kissing my lips. I ran my hands all over her body, earning a moan from her. I smirked into the kiss and she looked at me as she pulled away. "You gonna tell me about your trip?" "Tomorrow. I think I have something else in mind." I said as I played with the hem of her shirt. Patricia smirked a little and said "yeah?" I nodded while leaning in to kiss her again. Patricia pulled me towards the bedroom and I followed her, closing the door behind us.
