Skeith breathed heavily when he stopped running.

" Ah. Crap! " he cursed as he felt the two, long poles of stable flesh and bones, that were supposed to support him, collapse.

Skeith looked behind him, silently hoping from the bottom of his heart that Blaire would run after him, but no such luck occurred. He looked down his legs, which were now planted to the granite-tiled floors of the school hallways. They were shivering, though the halls were only filled with warm, still air.

The tears he kept hidden underneath his steel-stained eyes slowly trailed his supple cheeks.

" Ah, fuck! I'm such a crybaby. " Skeith bellowed in misery.

" Idiot... " I heard someone comment beside me.

I turned to my right and sure enough found my best friend, Kreiss, standing casually by one of the classroom doors.

" Kreiss! " I screamed out his name as I leaped into his arms for a hug but as if his life was at stake, he hand-chopped my head to disable my attempt.

" Ow. Kreiss, you meanie! " I said as I rubbed my head.

" Idiot. You fuckin' deserve it! First, for even trying to sexually harass me and second, for falling head-over-heels over that gayshit lord and end up crying here in the empty hallways. " he said all at once.

Yep... you heard that right. He knows that I'm gay. I'm glad that he's here with me right now and I'm glad that he didn't run away from me when I first told him about my secret. Unlike those losers at school that suddenly evade you for being a third gender and they always give you that vibe that just because you're gay they'll automatically assume that you'll be targeting them. As if they're even worth it. Believe me, I know some of these losers in real life and they assume the same thing to the point of it being cliched already. Well, at least I confided to the right guy.

" Gayshit lord?! " I repeated with a vision of imaginary veins popping out of my head but I let it slide for now because I really didn't feel like it and I owe him that much to just tolerate his crappy nicknames.

He bent his knees to form a squat-like sitting position and poked my nose as he said the word, " Idiot. "

I pushed him forward, quickly tipping his balance off.

" Idiot. " I poked his nose as he got on his feet.

" You! " he vexed as I laughed at him.

As my laughter wavered, he just continued to smile at me. This made me feel a bit uneasy.

" What? " I asked.

" Nothing. I'm just glad that you're finally looking brighter. " He said as he flashed another one of his brilliant smile.

I gasped inside my head. He was right! Even if it was just mere minutes ----- I was happy.

Again, my friend just laughed at my dumbfounded face and said, " No need to thank me. "

" I would never thank you. " I said as I stuck my tongue out. 

" How childish and to think that you're the so-called ice prince of this school. " he smirked.

" Whatever. If I'm with you, I can be myself. You should feel lucky to see my other side. "

" I should be lucky to see your weird side? This feels more like torture. " he snickered at me and I couldn't help but just laugh as well.

" Oy, want to grab something to eat? " he asked as our laughter broke off.

" Your treat? "

" Hmm... Sure! I'll gladly celebrate the day he broke your heart. " he teased and smiled annoyingly. Enough for me to kick his shin off.

" Ow! " he complained as he rubbed the area.

" You deserve that. " I said as I quickly got up on my feet and turned around. I planted my first step towards the exit but felt no sign of movement from him so I instinctively turned around.

He happily grinned at me as he reached his hand out, " Lift me up. "

" Talk about childish. " I mumbled as I accepted his hand.

" Thanks. "

" Whatever. You're paying, right? "

" Yeah. "
