When her parents died, nothing could comfort Ferox.
The foster care system was not kind either, but she had gotten lucky. Her foster family ended up being the best gift she ever had because she met Valt Aoi.
Valt was the most open, caring individual that she had ever encountered. She was drawn to his positive energy, and he had become the light of her life. He made her a better person, and she was honored to be his older sister and there to guide him.
He did not understand her pain, but Valt was the greatest comfort that she had ever had. He would always bring a smile to her face, and she trusted that he would never leave her.
Free de la Hoya had offended her, just like Lui, by targeting Valt.
She remembered when Valt spent the night crying after meeting Lui for the first time; Lui had called Valt a "bad blader." Afterward, she had a challenging time looking at Lui the same way.
As Lui kept mistreating Valt, she avoided him more and more. As a result, her friendship with Lui started splintering apart, and Lui blew it apart by confessing his love randomly to her.
Ferox pursed her lips, and deep down, she found the ruthlessness she needed. She looked Free straight in the eyes. Her brown eyes burned, and the girl said, "You never did love me, did you?"
She grinned at him and said, "Does it please you to hurt me? Well, you haven't. All you've done is prove to me what you were all along. You're an insecure boy who has nothing, so you try to hurt others for your twisted pleasure."
She continued maliciously, "I used to think that you were the boy for me, but now I realize that you're the disappointment. You're ugly and a bad blader."
It was loud enough for only Free to hear, but it destroyed him more than any physical attack could. He recoiled, and his eyes clouded with agony. He felt lacerated and ravaged by her words, and the worst part was that he knew that he deserved it.
Ferox turned around and stalked away. She felt upset and awful for saying such venomous things to Free, and she did not want to care anymore. On the other hand, Free stared lifelessly at the ground as his heart was completely torn to shreds.
"Well, that's disappointing," Wakiya pouted. "All right, let's get this over with."
"Watch it!" Rantaro said.
"Take some notes. This is what it will be like when the league officially kicks off. As for you, you'll remember this as the day I send you packing!" Wakiya said.
"That attitude of yours is the only thing going on a road trip!" Rantaro fired back.
This match will be the most important match of my career, he thought. Rantaro could not lose, no matter what, or he would have to leave his friends.
The pressure was mounting, but Rantaro knew he could win because Ferox and Valt supported him. Rantaro thought firmly, I need to understand and listen to my Bey. I should fight for this...No, we can do this, Roktavor. No way I'm getting knocked off the world stage.
Let's prove them wrong, Roktavor agreed. We have a score to settle with Wyveron!
"Game 6," the commenter announced.
"First battle. Ready, set. Three, two, one. Let it, rip!"
"Dropping down from the skies, Roktavor makes a fierce touch-down! Dodged it!" the commenter said avidly as Roktavor swerved out of Wyveron's path.
"Oh, yeah!" Rantaro said, realizing that his new launch had paid off.
"Roktavor is looking fast. Wait, is he taking a page from Valt's book?" the commenter said as Roktavor zipped ferociously across the stadium and settled in its center. Hanami, the commenter, corrected, "Nope, it's making itself home in the center!"
