~Twenty-two~

***A V E R Y S     P O V***

As Max got home all he talked about was how much fun he had at grandmas... I'm happy she lets him call her that as I thought she wouldn't like it has we aren't really family... but deep down we are..

I got a shower and bathed Max and it was about 6:30 and I'm pretty sure the meeting has started.

I was just in a thong one of Ryder's top as it's like a dress anyway and it's boiling in the house.

Max was just in a pair of shorts and he wanted to show his muscles.... he's four and known Ryder for a couple of months and acts like him already but it's cute.

We went down to the kitchen which is kinda beside Ryder's office. Like if the spoke loud I can hear them clearly.

I started making dinner for Max, me and Ryder..

I made Max's favourite which is lasagna I finally made it with veg and roast potatoes on the side I put Ryder's plate in the over to keep it warm.

As me and Max was eating there was shouting happening and let's say there was some colourful words going on I quickly covered Max's ears and put him through to the living room on the sofa and put tv on loud so he didn't hear anything as I quickly finished and put my plate in the sink.

I heard the office door open and a man about 50-60 shouting back at Ryder and his men... wtf is happening...

The 50ish year old man looked at me up and down.

"Cause of her you can't keep your end of the contract cause of this slut" I flinched at his words, and on time Max is running out crying hugging me..

I quickly picked him up about to go upstairs until I felt a hand grabbing me pulling me by the old man..

And honestly I'm not scared I'm confused as hell...

That's until I saw the guy holding me with a gun..

I saw Ryder eyes filled with anger, sadness, fear all in one.

"Ryder... what's going on?" I asked as I tried to go to him but was pulled back. By this point Max was sobbing.. I knew he was scared by all these men as whenever Liam was over with his men they would hurt me in front of Max...

"Mommy I want daddy" he said "I know I know daddy's here he's busy right now okay" I whispered to him.

"Also you have a son... how nice.  To have a family.. but how much would it hurt if they were to suddenly disappear.." the old man said as Ryder took a step forward as said the words that hurt so much I could even control the tears coming.

"He's not my son and she's nothing to me"

9 words.. 9 words.  That's all it took me to break down. Tears streaming down my face. The old man looked happy.

"And I'll think about the request, give me a month.

"2 weeks or nothing"

"Okay" Ryder said as they left and Max not being a stupid kid knew what was going on and let go of my wanting down and he went a punched Ryder in his family jewels. 

As Max ran up stairs to his room..

I looked up to Ryder's eyes... regret is all I saw regret and guilt..

By this point all his guards and gang members has left..

"I-is it true.. I-I'm n-nothing to you" I said not looking at him.

"No of course not"

"Then why did you say it huh?! You obviously meant it if you said it! And even in front of MY son... how could you..."

By the end I was a sobbing mess. Couldn't keep my tears in as Ryder came over to hug me but I flinched and stepped back..

"Don't touch me!" I shouted "just leave please" by this point my voice became a whisper.. I can't handle the pain.. I just can't..

"I'll give you a couple of days... just you know I really don't mean what I said..." he said as he went to the door and he said something else I couldn't understand and left...

I broke down then, sobbing my eyes out to tired to even stand.

One of the maids who was there the who,e time helped me up and took me to the room saying that she's here if she needs me.

I think her name was Rebecca.  I smiled at her and went to bed... the Ben me and Ryder was in no long ago.. I went under the covers and looked at the empty side beside me until I felt a small body beside me known it was Max I snuggled him in..

"Is d-dad coming back.. I want dad" he said in a whisper.

"I don't know Max, I don't know...." I said as I heard his soft snores as I felt my feet getting weighed down, noticing it was the dogs I relaxed and dozed off.

Hoping that Ryder will come back and explain himself..
