No sooner did she say that than she started attacking me. She was inhumanly fast and agile and I would have been no match for her in normal circumstances, but I learned earlier that nothing was normal.
First, she attacked me directly thinking I was a mere human who just happened to look like her. She thought that she would easily dispose of me, but as I deflected her blow with my sword she realized that it wouldn't be that easy.
The sad thing for me was the fact that the sword didn't even leave a scratch on her hand. I had no idea how I would defeat her. Seeing as I had no use of the sword against her, I dropped it to the ground and started fighting with my bare hands.
She started attacking me so fast that she was just a blur. Surprisingly enough, I was able to move as fast as she did. We were just two blurs spinning around and trying to hit each other. As surprised as I was by the fact that I was a match for the killer, I kept fighting her off, trying as much I could to postpone thinking about what all that meant.
Still, my attention flattered for a split-second, and she managed to punch me in the face. I could feel the punch reverberating through my whole head, but it didn't do too much damage, just a split lip. The taste of my own blood actually helped me get out of my own head. I refocused my attention, and we kept trying to find a way to hurt each other.
That wasn't an easy thing to do since we seemed to be able to predict each other's movements just a second before they were made. I thought it might have been some strange telepathic connection because I could see her moves before she made them.
No matter the fact that she had demonic origins it was still difficult for her to hurt me, much more than she anticipated. I could tell that from her changing expressions.
At first, she was smirking at me, sure that she would kill me easily and effortlessly. Then it turned into a scowl, then concentration and finally her face contorted in a mask of anger and resentment.
What worried me was the fact that I was good enough to fight against her, a demonic spawn, what did that say about me? What kind of person had I become since the first time I met the Dark Lord, or raven as I knew him at the time, had I become the same as the demons I was fighting? Did I cross the line that shouldn't be crossed?
The fact was, she was much better than me especially because she didn't think, she acted on instinct and that made me feel a bit better, we were not the same. She didn't worry about what it all meant or what kind of person she was, she just acted in pursuit of devouring my flesh and I think that was what gave her the additional edge.
After a few moments, she managed to throw me against a nearby rock and I could hear my rib crack, which was the least of my problems.
While I was down, she sat on top of me and pulled and twisted one of my legs. I could hear the disgusting cracking sound as she broke my bones. Warm blood started pouring out, and one of the bones was sticking out of my leg, so I cried out in pain.
"You are so weak! You thought that you were good enough to defeat me?! That was never even a possibility, you are just a worm underneath my feet, and I am going to squish you now." She said.
When she said that, it was like a door to my unconscious mind was slightly opened and I could see what I wasn't ready to accept before. I, a mere human with limited powers, could actually defeat her, I could defeat all of them. Inside me, there was much more strength than I first thought.
The reason why the Dark Lord focused on me and why he played all those mind games on me was because I had the power to defeat him. My power was strong enough to defeat my doppelganger and the Dark Lord only if I focused it in the right way. This whole time demons and monsters were using me as their play toy but it was only because I allowed them to do so.
The Dark Lord's plan worked too well, he managed to lower my self-confidence using his mind games on me, and that in turn lessened my powers. But it was time to make a stop to their games.
Closing my eyes, I imagined a huge ball of white energy. I imagined it clearly, every detail of it, every beautiful curve and line, and threw it at my doppelganger. As I opened my eyes, I could see that there was an actual energy ball, and it hit my evil twin straight in the chest.
"It actually worked!" I thought to myself more surprised than I should have been.
"I am not crazy! There is power in me that they don't want me to see or use!" I thought to myself as my doppelganger staggered in pain.
By instinct, I channeled energy in the palm of my hand and went over my broken leg and in that instant, it started repairing itself quickly and efficiently. I also repaired my broken rib with the same energy.
The truth that I couldn't realize earlier was that the energy was all around us. It wasn't good or bad, it just was, and if we used it in the right way, we could defeat our enemy or heal our body easily and with some concentration. I knew the battle wasn't over yet, so I got up and prepared to fight.
"Now it's my turn!" I said vengefully.
