"Well, well!" boomed the Dark Lord as I refocused my attention on him and finally realized what was staring me in the eye since they first arrived.
The Dark Lord wasn't just any lowly demon, he was the main demon. He was the Devil, the personification of evil.
Completely red with two huge, menacing horns and a pair of large leathery wings he looked even bigger if that was even possible. His enormous tail seemed to be used as a weapon since its end was sharp and pointed.
In his long-nailed hand, he held a huge red pitchfork, ready to strike if the occasion arose. His teeth seemed much bigger in that form and his eyes were blood-red. The face of my enemy held an expression that I couldn't understand, the expression he didn't want me to understand. I was shocked, to say the least.
Having fought a few demons I was under the impression that one demon more or less wouldn't be a problem but the Devil!? How was I supposed to beat the Devil?
I knew there was no way to kill him, but maybe I could stop him from raising. The question that I kept asking myself was how?
Honestly, I had no idea what he wanted with my friend or what exactly was his plan. All I knew was that I had to at least try to stop him. I knew many innocent lives would be spared back in the world of the living if I could keep him down there, in Hell.
"I never thought that such a weakling would make it this far," he said and started laughing.
His laughter was much deeper and even more terrifying than I expected. He laughed with his mouth wide open showing off his deadly teeth. The laughter was so loud that it made the whole cave shake and the echoes made it even more deformed. It sounded truly demented.
I wondered what I was supposed to do as his laughter slowly subsided. The Devil started talking before I had a chance to think of anything.
"Nevertheless, I am glad you are here. Just in time. You can witness the unholy union between me and my bride. After all, you are the one who brought us together.
If it weren't for you, this union wouldn't have been possible. Not only did we meet thanks to you, but by killing her while she was still the raven, you damned her soul to Hell, as well. Now, we have come a full circle. You should witness our evil binding.
Since I can that your puny brain hasn't figured it out yet, I shall bring you the light. The Bloody Feast is actually a pre-wedding ceremony. Well, we don't call it a wedding, but I am using the terms so that a measly brain such as yours can understand what I am saying.
First, there is the feast, as you can see. After that, I and my future bride are given the juiciest and the most delicious humans to devour. Finally, we are bathed in the blood of innocent, and we raise. Well, I shall raise with the help of my demonic bride."
Shocked as I was by all that was happening I still had enough courage left to ask questions.
"What do you need her for? You are the Devil. Shouldn't you be the most powerful demon in Hell? Why do you need a human soul? Why have you really tricked her?" I asked.
Instead of replying out loud and incriminating himself, I could hear his creepy voice inside my head. It was both terrifying and disgusting to realize that he could enter my mind so easily and effortlessly.
"Well, since you are going to die anyway, I might as well tell you. It's not like you could tell anyone." he laughed manically causing me a massive headache. It felt as if there was a spear running through the very center of my head.
"Your friend was never as ordinary as you all assumed. She was always more than just a regular human. She had powers similar to yours. Well much stronger, and more important than yours of course.
While I was hunting you, I realized the power your friend possessed, and I spent years planning how I could use her to my advantage. I realized that her power was too big to just try to steal it from her, so I came up with a magnificent plan that as you can see has worked perfectly.
At first, I studied her in my raven form. Then, with the help of my servants, I used the powers of Hell to create an image of her perfect mate. I acted and pretended for a long time which wasn't an easy task to do. Faking human emotions was quite tiring but I knew that the payment would be much greater than my troubles.
You see, her power is quite a useful one. She can create new worlds. She has boundless imagination that could have been able to create new worlds, had she achieved her true potential. I couldn't allow for that to happen, so I distracted her with pesky emotions, such as love and passion. You, humans, are so easily seduced by frivolous emotions.
Finally, as she grew fond of me, I could take control of her actions, beliefs and even feelings. When you humans love, you give your whole soul to the other person, but that person can use it to destroy you as I destroyed her.
After taking control of her earthly actions, I had a bit of trouble getting her soul to Hell because even when she murdered people, it wasn't actually her.
You were most helpful in solving that problem for me. Since you killed her in her raven form while being under the demonic influence which was fused with her own soul, that sent it straight to Hell.
Finally, I am able to suck all the power and energy out of her and create my own world of torture and despair using her unique talent. By entering the unholy union with me, she is giving me the power to do that. She is uniting her soul with me and in that way, I get her powers, too " He elaborated smirking.
