Chapter 8

Amelia's POV

I could tell Emily was upset when I said I was Jason's girlfriend. I kinda felt bad, but I wasn't worried about her stealing Jason. Once Kate and Jason came back down I went to go talk to her.

"Hey." I said as I walk in. She fakes a smile.

"Hi." she says.

"Look, I know you like Jason. And I know your faking that smile. You don't have to act different around me." I say to her.

"I'm not going to steal him from you it just, before I left I thought... It was stupid. I was just delusional." She says. I chuckle.

"I know your not and you weren't delusional. When I first met Jason he was waiting for a girl named Emily. After a few months he was happy again. Then we went out." I say. She smiles.

"Just take care of him. Okay?" She says with a smile on her face. I hug her.

"but if you hurt him..." she adds.

"I know!" I laugh. "I won't hurt him.I really do love him." She smiles more.

"Good."

"If you ever need another girl to party with or to talk to, give me a call." I say handing her my number. I walk out. That went well.

"Thanks." She says, and I can tell she means it.

Jason's POV

~~2 weeks later~~

I was going to break up with Amelia. I loved her a lot, but I also loved Emily.

Amelia walked in.

"Amelia, I'm breaking up with you." I say quickly. Tears form in her eyes.

"Ok." She choked out. She ran upstairs. I walked to Emily's bedroom. When Emily burst out the door and asked me,

"Why is Amelia crying?"

"I broke up with her to be with you." I said.

"It's too late for that." She said. Its funny, you never realize how 5 words can turn your entire world upside down.

Amelia's POV

The last two weeks had been great! Emily. Kate, and I acted like we'd known each other forever! I walked into the living room. Jason was sitting on the couch. Once he saw me he shot up and said the words that broke my heart into a million pieces.

"Amelia, I'm breaking up with you." I could feel the tears form in my eyes.

"Ok." I choked out. I ran upstairs. Not less than a minute later, Emily comes running in and sits on the floor with me.

"What's wrong?" She asked.

"J-Jason broke up with me." I said.

"I know," she speaks quietly and sadly,"he asked me out."

"He did? What did you say?" I ask curiously.

"Well I opened my door to find out why you were crying and Jason was there. I asked him why you were crying and he said he broke up with you to be with me. Then I told him it's too late for that." She says. I sigh.

"Why? Why did you reject him? I know you loved him too." I choke out.

"I do love him. But I promised you I wouldn't steal him from you. And I plan on keeping that promise." She says, smiling this time. I smile back and hug her.

"You are the best friend I've ever had. For realzies. I've never had a friend as good as you." I say. she smiles again.

"I try." she says. We both laugh.
