(4) Palindrome: Immortal Love

Here still, living still, alive still is love.

Beauty is fleeting and fragile and short, however,

Cheeks' red fading and brows wrinkling in age,

Eyes youthful dimming in on-coming twilight,

Lips soft and supple cracking in passing years,

Teeth, pearly white and straight, staining in putrid plaque,

Breath, smelling sweet, fouling in decay,

Perfumes' pleasant scents staling in stale air,

Fingers, smooth and silky, drying in passing summers,

Hairs' luscious black and blond and brown and red greying in time.

Despite these horrors, still surviving, still living, still loving,

Both you and I, for eternity, forever and ever.

(Reflect)

Ever and forever—eternity for I and you, both

Loving still, living still, surviving still horrors these despite:

Time in greying red and brown and blond and black luscious hairs,

Summers passing in drying silky and smooth fingers,

Air stale in staling scent's pleasant perfumes,

Decay in fouling sweet-smelling breath,

Plaque putrid in staining straight and white pearly teeth,

Years passing in cracking supple and soft lips,

Twilight coming on in dimming youthful eyes,

Age in wrinkling brows and fading red cheeks.

However short and fragile and fleeting is beauty,

Love is still alive, still living, still here.
