Nick was waiting in his car outside a vacant house that supposedly belonged to a new informant of the Detective. Nick was pretending to pick up information on a Wesen drug cartel for a case. If everything went as planned a tactical team would apprehend the Darkspire agents sent to kill Nick and they would be detained for interrogation.

Nick got out of his car and made his way to the house, a female Jägerbar had let him in after knocking twice. Her name was Cynthia Karev, she was one of the limited Wesen members of the Watchers. Little did anyone, but them and the agents surrounding and surveying the house, that three-person tactical squads took up the rest of the house. They were on every floor in most rooms, some were either made up of Grimms, Humans, or Wesen, others were a combination of the three. The house itself was fairly isolated from any other neighborhoods so they didn't have to worry about civilians getting caught in the crossfire.

Veronica was in the next room watching her partner, she had just radioed to check if all teams were ready to engage and they were.

The facade went on for nearly an hour before a unit east of the house reported that a blacked out van had been circling the block and had finally come to a stop two blocks away from the house. All units stood by and waited, Burkhardt reached for his Glock and prepared his vambrace while Karev reached for her sidearm and maintained a partial Woge. After waiting twenty minutes of inactivity three incognito agents were sent to check out the van, two maintained distance while the other went in.

The agent checked the windows and saw a figure in the back, he went around and opened the door, but when he opened it half-way the van burst into flames, killing the agent. From the forestation surrounding the house gunshots poured upon the remaining two operatives. A team of invaders in black combat gear went for the house, in turn, the tactical squads engaged the hostiles and the firefight began. The sounds of the instruments of war rang through the dawn air.

To say that Monroe was not pleased with Nick's choice of actions was an understatement, he was irritated, confused, and had a variety of other emotions that definitely didn't sit well with each other. The Blutbad was pacing around the Conference Room while Rosalee poured coffee and tried to calm his nerves. Both were upset with the Detective's decision to put himself in further risk than needed.

After a while, Hank came into the room—having heard the same news—in a mood identical to Monroe's. So far the only one not cracking under the suspense was Rosalee and if she was she hid it well.

After sitting around for almost thirty minutes Agent Goodward entered, earlier both he and Agent Knights confessed to being a part of their own respective supernatural lineages, neither of them was willing to admit which. Despite this, they seemed to be trustworthy enough.

Goodward hurriedly went to the keypad on the center table and punched in a code. This activated the central monitor which blared the sound of gunfire and shouting. Hank was about to ask what was going on, but he was cut off when the images came up.

The monitor showed a Watcher tactical team engaging in combat with a Darkspire kill squad.

Juliette was pacing around her living room, she had spent a couple of hours reliving her relationship with Nick again, hoping it either would act as a motivator or a form of discouragement. It did both. In the end, she decided to call Nick and invite him over for dinner- eventually and at least not before calling Monroe for Nick-related insight.

She dialed the clockmaker's number and waited.

"Hello?" When he answered she heard the sound of muffled gunshots in the background.

"Monroe, hi it's Juliette. I was wondering if you could tell me about Nick. You know- how he's been and what he's doing."

"Uh- he's been his usual self, ya know same old same old." Monroe's hesitation and nervousness were so blatant he might as well have a knife to his throat.

"Are you watching a movie or something? Because I can hear gunfire."

"Yes." Answered the Blutbad, faster than he meant.

"Monroe, has Nick said anything about our relationship, mine and his?"

"No, he hasn't mentioned anything related to you at all for a while."

As soon as she heard this Juliette felt a pang in her chest.

"Which- which is good because it means he's in- in a much more serene state of mind," said Monroe, "I mean he's obviously not happy about the whole separation thing, but ya know he's in better spirits."

Before the veterinarian could say more Monroe abruptly hung up on her.
