Mitch's POV
"Merome! Could you come here for a second?" I shout down the hallway.
Silence.
That's strange. Usually she answers back. "Merome?"
Silence.
I walk down the hallway and open Merome's door.
"Merome? Why didn't you-" I stop in my tracks. The window was open, Biggums was freaking out in his cage, and Merome was gone. Biggums clawed at the cage so I opened the door. He landed on the floor and was surrounded in colored swirls. He began to form into a man and I gasped.
"Jerome!" My eyes filled with tears and I embraced my biggums. My biggums.
"Mitch. We have to hurry."
"You were there the whole time and didn't tell me?" Tears spilled over my cheeks and Jerome pushed me away.
"Mitch. Listen. Merome was kidnapped and we need to find her." It dawned on me that Merome would not have run away. There were amber alerts all over tv.
"Merome..." I fell to my knees, momentarily forgetting about my vampire husband.
"Mitch... Mitch!" Jerome shook me but I couldn't hear him. Merome. I had to see Merome. I had to rescue Merome. She's only six. Merome. Merome.. Merome... Merome.....
Adrenaline coursed through my veins and I ran out the door.
