Merome's POV
"E-excuse me." I stutter. This man looks about twenty year older than me and I usually have trouble talking to older people. "A-are you okay?"
"Yeah. I'm fine." he says bluntly. "My daughter has been ripped from my arms for almost fifteen years now, my fiancé is a bat, and my friend is part-cat. I'm totally fine."
"I'm Merome." I smile and put out my hand for him to shake. He reaches for my hand and stops. I can practically see the gears turning in his head as he grabs my hand.
"Mitch. This is Adam," He gestures to a man in jeans and a tee-shirt, "Ty," gestures to the part cat, "And Jerome. My fiancé." Mitch says, gesturing to a man in a suit.
"N-Nice to meet you. My name's Merome." I smile and wave and they all freeze as if a spell had been cast on them. "Uhh... H-hello?" I ask.
"Is she..." Jerome asks to Mitch and Mitch shakes his head.
"Looks like it, but probably not." All four stare at me and I immediately feel self-conscious, pulling up my pants and straightening my Panic! At The Disco shirt. All four stop staring and focus on the bus as it comes towards the stop. I board the bus and so does Mitch. The man cuts Jerome, Adam, and Ty off.
"Sorry, only two for this stop." Mitch starts to head back.
"It's okay, bro. We'll catch the next stop." Jerome says smiling.
"You sure?" Mitch asks, unsure.
"Go ahead, buddy." Adam says with a hearty laugh. I go to my seat and Mitch sits next to me as the bus begins to move.
"So." Mitch says, breaking the awkward silence between us. "Well, what buisness do you have in Sweden?"
"Oh, m-my parents live here. Their really over protective." I say the last part quickly.
"Who are your parents?" Mitch asks with uncertainty. "I mean, if you don't mind me asking." He looks away shyly.
"Their names are Felix and Marzia." I realized they were no longer my parents and quickly began twiddling my thumbs.
"A-are you adopted?" I quickly glare at Mitch, thinking that it was rude to ask, but then I realized all the things me and my par- ex-parents had that were different from each other.
"I-I don't know..." I trailed off, suddenly finding my feet very interesting.
"Oh, biggums. She doesn't remember." Mitch quietly, almost inaudibly, muttered.
Biggums.
That word was familiar.
Mitch's friend is part-cat.
His name is Ty.
Mitch's fiancé is a bat.
•••
"Gotcha, batty!" I laughed as I stuffed the small creature into the bag.
•••
"Biggums. That's what I'll call you!" Daddy always says 'biggums' in his sleep, so it was the perfect name.
•••
"You OK?" Mitch asks, waving a hand in front of my vision.
"Daddy." I mutter.
"Excuse me?" Mitch asks.
"Daddy!" I say, this time a little louder as I embrace Mitch, no, not Mitch, Daddy.
"Merome! I thought I'd never find you!" Daddy hugs me back. It's been fifteen years, yet I had found my Daddy. My real Daddy.
So sappy and sweet. Blargh.
Like honey.
I'm not a huge fan of honey...
So, yeah. That's the book!
Did I do good? Comments would be appreciated!
