- So, I was thinking. – I started the day after, as we drank some coffee in Jungkook's kitchen, while I wore only one of his shirts on top of my underwear. – Relationships.
- They are overrated in my opinion. – he answered absently. – But what about them?
- Well ... What if I want one?
Jungkook stared at me for a while, most likely trying to figure me out. Trying to understand the foreign words that had just left my lips. Where they had come from.
His eyes were assessing, as if he could uncover my deepest secrets by sheer will. As if he could find all the answers in my eyes.
But I suppose that didn't work.
- Do you want one?
- Well, I might. – I answered, sipping from my mug carefully and sitting on a stool beside him.
- Can I ask where this is coming from?
- From me, Jungkook. – I said, putting my mug down and turning sideways to face him. - I never did this. This fuck-buddies kind of thing. It isn't me. I like being in a relationship and I like what it represents.
- And what is that?
- Companionship. Care. Commitment. – at the last one, he snorted. – I'm serious, Jungkook. I like coming home from work and having someone there to just hold me. Someone to make me laugh when my day goes bad. Someone that'll dry my tears and ask nothing in return. I like to know there is someone there for me.
- That's what you used to do with your previous boyfriend?
- Don't go there. – I started, shaking my head and smiling sadly. – We tried, it just didn't work how we thought it would.
- The spark wasn't too strong?
- It was. And then, it wasn't.
I made a face, remembering what said guy had told me a couple of weeks ago. How he said it had been a mistake to part. That he wanted me back.
- You have that look on your face. – blurted Jungkook.
- What look?
-The one that says "I have a secret". What is it?
- It's nothing.
- Seriously, Hana? – he asked, arching his eyebrow. Coming closer, he touched his nose to mine, breathing on my skin. The warmth causing shivers all over me. – I know how to make your body sing whatever song I want to me. Do you really think I can't tell when you're lying?
And that is part of the problem, Jeon. You disarm me so easily.
- Ugh, fine. – I breathed, turning my face to the side and avoiding his intent gaze. – My ex wants to go back together.
Jungkook frowned, moving back a little. He looked at me for a minute, God knows what kind of thoughts swirling through his mind as his brown eyes analyzed me. I kept time fumbling with my forgotten mug on top of the counter as I waited.
- That's what this is about? – he asked in a neutral voice. I hated that voice. – You'll go back to him?
- What? No. – I answered, a weird chuckle leaving my lips. – He broke up with me, yes, but only because he was faster to say the words. Things between us had not been like they were for some time. – turning my face, I looked at him as I spoke. – I don't make the same mistake twice.
- You met someone else, then?
- Uhm, no.
- You have me lost here, Hana.
