Not period pain

CHAPTER 22

Saturday morning Layla help me to the bathroom. I bath myself then she help me with other stuff. I am going to hospital today to meet up with one of Layla's friends who happen to be a gynecologist just to check if is it normal to have heavy flows and stiff abdominals. I wear my tracksuit bottoms and a jacket with some slippers. I eat then we drive to hospital, me,Sammy and Layla. Mikel went to work,he said he should be given a call if it's anything important. I knew it felt awkward for him. We met Layla's friend.

"Hi,I'm doctor Willard. Get in." He opens his office door. "So let's start with your name."

"I'm Micah Berry."

"Mind to tell me when did this start?"

"Yesterday. In the morning."

"Took any medication?"

"Painkillers cause it feels like period pain."

"On a day before yesterday,did you eat anything that you think might have caused this?"

"Not that I know of cause I didn't eat anything new."

"How does it feel,the pain,from where to where, when does it hurt that kind of info."

"It feels like I'm being stabbed by a sharp object from the back right to my waist almost like bladder cause it feels painful when I pee."

"I have to ask you to do me a favour." He then walk to a cardboard and got out a big mug made out of steel. "Pee on this for me."

"It is mixed with blood."

"It's OK."

Layla accompanied me to the bathroom where I peed then we took the urine to the doctor. He then left the room with it. Few hours later he came back.

"The urine is showing yellow which means she has infection. I'll have to give her the antibacterial antiseptic injection then few medication." He then does that, injecting me on my butt. We collect the pills then I left. I eat two,three times morning,lunch and night.

When we got home,I just felt tired and went to sleep.

I wake up then Sammy walk in,firstly peeking in her head. She smile then look outside as if there is someone then Liam walk in. He thank her then walk into the room,slowly to my bed as he sat by my feet,then held his breath for few seconds as if he was trying not to say something foolish.

"I heard that you're sick."

"Yeah,infection."

"Feeling better after the injection or no change?" He look down on the floor,somehow looking guilty.

"I'm better,I think it is working." I then smile. "Liam."

He look at me. "Yeah?"

"I'm sorry. It was never my intentions to hurt you. Never meant to cause you any pain. I really am sorry."

He moved up,sat next to me then got me into a hug. For the first time for long I felt free,happy,loved and I then remembered that my heart really belonged to him. We sat in that hug for minutes.

"I was angry but the moment I heard that you were sick,I couldn't help to forgive you. I love you Micah." He then kissed my head.

I wake up, Liam no longer in just Mikel. He smile.

"Ain't you hungry?"

"No. Hope didn't stop working because of me,I'm better now."

"Hope so. Heard that a boy called Liam came to see you, didn't cause you trouble?"

"No Mikel,can you get me water?"

"Of cause" he pour me water that was besides my bed. "Anything else."

"Did you tell the principal that I am sick?"

"Yes of cause,and she said there isn't much work now only preparations for the coming dance. Hope you'll be better by then."

"I will be. Can I get some food so that I can take my meds?"

"Yes. Coming right up." He then left.

My phone ring. Ryla.

"Never thought I would here from you so soon."

"I called to ask if how you feeling?"

"Better I think. You know you can come over right?"

"Yeah but not now. Maybe when I come back from the party."

"Drunk?"

"No,if I'm drunk I won't come"

"Okay. Bring me something nice then"

"Like what?"

"Anything."

"A bottle of Whiskey will sure do you right."

I laughed. "I thought so too. Gotta go,bye." I said switching off the phone as Mikel walked in.
