{GaLe for @Kenzierose02 }
Crocus was in ruins, dragons were everywhere and the human numbers were dwindling by the day. The remaining dragon slayers were doing all they could to keep the people safe. Lucy ha only just left for the past, hoping to stop this catastrophe. A certain black haired dragon slayer was putting up a fight, while a blue haired mage evacuated a group of people from the city.
"Don't you dare lose Gajeel!" she shouted over her boulder as they ran. He smirked but he didn't promise her. He was already low on energy and magic, but he just ha to distract it long enough for them to get away. He lept, sending an iron club into it's face. It roared in anger and slashed at him, sending him flying. He bit back a groan of pain as his wounds from the day before reopened. "Iron Dragons Roar!" he sent a tunnel of metal towards the dragon but it didn't even flinch. Again it's claw came at him but he couldn't get out of the way. He was sent flying into the ruins of a building, and slid down to the group.
He coughed, blood rising in his throat. The claws had dug into him, leaving monstrous gashes. His vision was spotted and his head felt heavy. He tried but he couldn't convince his body to move. The dragon stepped closer as reared back it's head, ready to roar it's element at him. 'Sorry shrimp. Looks like I lost this one.' He thought to himself as he closed his eyes. The dragon roared, sending a tunnel of jagged ice towards him. "Solid Script Shield!" a voice shouted.
He opened his eyes to find a word, forming a shield to block the ice in front of him. A small blue haired figure knelt beside him, carefully wrapping his arm around her shoulder. He groaned in pain as his free hand held his bleeding side. "Smokescreen!" she shouted and they were enveloped in a field of smoke. "Don't you dare die on me." Levy said as she half dragged half carried him away from the dragon. She carried him into the ruins of a building so they were hidden from the dragon and gently laid him on the ground.
"Sorry shrimp... I ain't gonna make it..." he choked out, blood trickling out of his mouth. "Yes you are. You have to." she said in a shaky voice. She tore what was left of his shirt and tried to stop the bleeding. 'There's so much blood!' she thought frantically. If only Wendy was still here... "Please..." she half sobbed. "Don't leave me... Your all I have left..." she started to cry. He weakly lifted his bloody hand and caressed her face. "I'm sorry Levy..." he said, wiping her tears and smearing blood on her face. "I wish I had told you sooner... I thought there was plenty of time... But there isnt..." He coughed again, more blood covering his mouth.
"I love you Levy," she stared at him wide eyed as the tears came faster. "Gajeel... Gajeel I love you too." She cried. He smiled weakly up at her.
She brought her lips to his bloody ones, still holding his had to her face. She felt his body go still, his hand limp in hers. She pulled back and stared at his pale face. His crimson eyes had dimmed, but he still had that soft smile on his face. She clutched his hand and sobbed, "No! Stay with me Gajeel!" she practically screamed. She cried her heart out, not caring if those monsters outside heard her. She would happily walk into their jaws if she could just be with him again.
"GAJEEL!!!"
