{I had this awesome yet still kinda sad idea to follow up Not Your Fault. I felt awful for making my leaves cry! This is pretty long}

"Hey mom." I said quietly as I sat at the old book shaped headstone. I laid a bouquet of lilies, her favorite, in front of it and dusted it off slightly. The necklace dad had laid on it was still there though it was worse for wear. I sighed a little sadly as I looked at it, I know dad didn't blame me, but I do. I wished everyday I could go back, stop myself from running out of the guild, make dad stay so he would be there to protect her. Just do something to make sure she stayed alive.

I sighed again and a small paw pat my knee. I looked at Lily and smiled slightly, the old exceed always stayed with me when dad went out on long jobs. He would always say it would be too much for the old furball but I knew it was so I wasn't alone. I stood up, brushing off my tan pants and sighed before picking up Lily. He sat on my shoulder and gently held onto my long midnight blue hair. I walked home, my mind on a million different things, and it took me a long time to realize Lily was calling my name.

"Sorry Lily, what was that?" "You alright Ray?" I smile and nod. "Just thinking." he raised an eyebrow. "What about?" I thought for a minute before speaking. "I wish I could bring mom back. I didn't get to know her like you and everyone at the guild. I wish I could go back and save her." I whispered the last part. He was quiet before patting my head. "Ray, let's go to Crocus." It was my turn to raise an eyebrow. "What ever for?" He grinned. "Thankfully, you got your mothers brains, you'll figure it out." I frowned but nodded. Once we got to the house I packed a small canvas bag and slung it over my shoulder.

I stopped by the guild to let them know where I was going, incase dad got back before I did. I took a deep breath before getting on the train and quickly took a seat. I may have gotten moms brains, but dad's motion sickness was my downfall. I tried to sleep through the ride, willing my stomach to stop turning while Lily pat my leg sympathetically. When sleeping didn't seem to work I pulled a book from my bag and began reading. When I was a kid mom had written small books about all of Fairy Tails adventures as I loved them all. This one was the Grand Magic Games.

I frowned slightly as I read before looking at Lily. "Eclipse?" he smiled slightly. "But Lily, surly it's been torn down by now." He shrugged. "It's worth a shot isn't it?" I nodded slightly. Finally at our destination I fell off the train, laying there until the world stopped spinning. I lept to my feet and headed for the palace, surprised at how easy it was it get in. I bowed to the green haired queen as she entered. "Redfox right?" she asked and I nodded .

"How can I help you?" I took a deep breath. "Is the eclipse portal still operational?" she stared at me wide eyed for a moment, as if trying to see if it was a joke. She sighed when she realized it wasn't and turned, motioning me to follow. She lead me deep into the castle, and before I knew it, I was standing in front of the large black and gold gates. "Why are you in need of the portal?" she asked. "I'm hoping to save a life." I said and she raised an eyebrow. "My mother." I said and she nodded. " You do know that even a small change like that could critically change your life?" I nodded.

"Normally I would not do this, but I owe Fairy Tail a great deal. This is the least I can do." She said as she opened the portal. I took a deep breath and Lily climbed onto my shoulder before we entered the portal. The light was bright and warm, I had to shield my eyes as I walked through. The next thing I know I'm standing at the entrance of Crocus. "Are we really here?" I asked and Lily walked into a store and I waited. He came back,"August 8th, 15 years in the past." I nodded as he landed on my shoulder and bolted for the train station. Two days before mom dies, we would get into Magnolia just as my dad leaves the guild to go on his mission.
