- chapter two -

"Meet her on the seventh floor in the cafe at 2 pm," [Y/N]'s boss instructed her. "Just grab a seat and wait for her."

"You're not going to give me her number? Or even her full name?"

"I already gave you her email right? Fujisan-something or- You know what, you can ask her tomorrow."

"Alright, alright. See you tomorrow, ma'am." [Y/N] hung up.

The last light shining through the window of [Y/N]'s apartment disappeared. The sound of the city grew louder as the wonders of the nightlife were welcomed into the world. Unfortunately for [Y/N], she couldn't enjoy that nightlife. Although she was stuck at first, [Y/N] had already found five sellers whom the Fujinuma lady could buy from.

"If she doesn't choose one of them, I swear to fucking god she's gonna catch these-"

  Ring ring.

  "Ah, hello?"

"Yo, [Y/N]-chan," A silky, deep, voice sounded through her phone. "How's your project going?"

"Oh, Kenma! I'm doing fine." She let out a giggle.

  "...Really?"

[Y/N] sighed with relief. For the longest time, even until now, [Y/N] always tended to hide her true feelings from everyone. Whether it was a white lie or just to distract people, she couldn't show her true feelings. It was one of the "side effects" from Kenma teaching her to act happy and approachable in public. So she was happy that such a perceptive Kenma was able to see through her almost every time.

"No," [Y/N] spaced out on her computer screen. "My client didn't specify anything when requesting for the mansion. She didn't say whether she wanted renovation, house decor, land decor,  how much she's willing to spend, nothing! How the fuck am I supposed to find her one when I don't know her preferences?! And it doesn't help that I can't see colours."

"Do you need my help?" Somehow, he always knew exactly what she needed. "I finished my work early today so I can come over and look at the colours."

"I-" [Y/N] wanted to say 'yes', but she didn't want to depend on him. If anything, she wanted to prove Kenma that she can live on her own. She's never worried whenever she falls because Kenma would always be there to catch her, but she wanted to try standing up on her own. "I'm fine, really. It's part of my job anyway."

  "Hmm."

The two of them continued their small talk, chatting away about even the smallest and dumbest things. But when [Y/N] looked at the time, she had to say goodnight to him and snuggle in bed. After all, she didn't want to sleep in on such an important client. Her promotion's on the line. It was scary, heck, it was terrifying. But she didn't have a choice.

"Don't think about it, [Y/N]," She tried to calm herself down. "It'll just be another grey day with another grey client whom you don't know. Don't lose your cool. You'll be fine."

And so she let the cold sleep overtake her.

As she sat on the small but comfortable lounge chair, [Y/N] thanked the coffee lady who brought her her usual cup of latte. Meanwhile, the chair opposite her was waiting for the Fujinuma lady. [Y/N] kept scanning the area for someone who would look like a "Fujinuma", but no one caught her attention. Sighing, [Y/N] just went back to her computer on the table and resumed her work. She grabbed her grey pen and began writing down things to note.
