Put yourself in my shoes.
I'm Layla, 14 years old and I'm year 8 at Ozlo college. My parents are divorced and I live with my mum and occasionally visit my dad. Everything was alright, well good grades, I wasn't lonely, I had everything going smoothly. Until Joanna, someone who I thought was my friend told my crush, Justin Rosella that I liked him. I really didn't want Justin to know because we are such good friends, I never wanted anything to be awkward or weird between us but Joanna didn't care about this, some friend right? Luckily for my sake she did this at the end of the day on Friday so I hadn't seen Justin after he found out, but Saturday morning my friend Lucy texted me that Justin was begging her for my message details, like seriously I don't want him to know so I told her to say can't get hold of her
This is my story, one i thought I would never tell, who really wants explain why they went from this to that? But here's what happened, the reason i was brought down with you....
-the phone rang-
I rushed to jump out of bed to grab the phone. It was mum checking I was 'up and atom'. I started getting ready for school, put on all my make up, put on my uniform but had to roll my skirt up so it was short enough, skipped breakfast so I would stay slim and went out the door.
I ran to school so I could make it on time, I got through the gates puffing a little. Grabbed my ipad, diary, pencil case and history book out of my locker and went to line up for home room.
Once we had gone up i sat in my normal seat but my best friend in my class was obviously sick so I looked like a loner on my table by myself. Just my luck Justin's home group is next door so he walks past my room, I waved awkwardly and he smiled back. He was walking with Emma , I hated Emma, she had come during term one and she just fit in like that, everyone liked her, she was popular and her first crush was Justin and he liked her back! Luckily he didn't ask her out and she moved on and is now going out with jim. I am still really jealous of her, i always have the feeling that she's flirting with him and I can't stand it. I turned back around on my seat and hopped on my ipad, I am kind of obsessed with the Kim kardasian Hollywood game, I'm actually really good #1 in A class:).
History started. I couldn't really pay attention, Justin is in the class next door and I could just see his head. "Miss Montenegro, when was the battle of Hastings?" Mrs Ghoul asked in an old fashioned way, you would think at 80 you would retire but not for mrs Ghoul! "1066, in Hastings, England mz" I answered ignorantly. I love those epic moments when a teacher asks you something thinking your not paying attention but you get it right! Mrs Ghoul walked off explaining something but someone the conquer.
My ipad made a small noise , normally you would get in trouble for this but Mrs Ghoul is deaf so it's all good. I checked it "bustin justin has added you on bolt messenger, slide right to chat" ugh I moaned, I was gonna kill Lucy but at the same time I was happy bout this. We talked through history and I saw him turn his head a couple of times and look at me. I kept deleting the chat because I freaked out but he kept on talking so it would pop back up.
I went out to recess. Screamed at Lucy for a while but gave up, she was too hard to stay mad at. I could see Justin on the oval with his mates George and drew. I didn't wanna go over but Lucy and my other 'friend' Caitlin actually picked me up and took me over there, as if it wasn't obvious enough! They dropped me there and Emma was already there flirting with all three and asked to see Lucy and Caitlin 'in private' leaving me alone.
I walked away dramatically, I am very dramatic, I've been told I should be an actor and i know I'm good, I can fool anyone! Justin said "hey" but ignored him. Like usual he chased me and caught up but I just punched him in the gut and told him to go dig a hole. I did this all the time to Justin but usually he leaves me alone then but followed me all the way to the basketball court. I started playing basketball with Lucy and Caitlin, who had somehow made it over here and Brittany was there too, I haven't mentioned Brittany, she has been my best friend since primary school.
