The wind was blowing, making the trees sway in perfect sync. I admired nature, wondering how something could be so calming yet so agitating.
I loved the feeling of serenity I get when I sit on the grass, feeling every movement around me, smelling beautiful flowers, watching the sun as it rises and sets, and observing the exceptional creatures.
It's unwarranted how my father warned me all the time about the dangerous world outside. But I didn't mind him because I knew "outside".
I wasn't a rebel but I just loved things my own way. I love to feel free, I love to enjoy my life with nobody telling me what to do.
That was why I came here every time I have the chance to, because here I can do what I wanted to do, here I can have the feeling of freedom I longed for in our kingdom but never felt it until I came here.
What would a 19 years old girl want more than freedom?
I began running into the grand forest, not caring about a single thing in this life. Running was my favourite thing to do, it made me feel like no one could hold me. Some people might say it's exhausting, some people might even hate it. But well, I am different.
Different.
A word that I had been told a million times by every person I knew! It's not like I didn't like it but I wasn't fond of all the attention people were giving me.
Do you remember who you are? My conscience reminded me.
I stopped in my usual spot, trying to catch my breath. It only took a few moments for it to become normal again. I looked around me and I noticed how marvellous the scenery was, I bet that any artist would want to come here and paint a drawing of this wonderful view. When I was admiring it, I realised that the sun started to set.
"I should probably get back home before I get into trouble." I mumbled to myself, getting ready to walk back home.
I just wished I could come here without having a problem but unfortunately, life wasn't fair. Nobody knew this hidden place except my best friend, Louis and I. My father would kill me if he knew I came here most of my time because it's forbidden to go out of the kingdom without having permission but I couldn't care less, at least I enjoy my time while breaking his rules.
Having permission in our place means that you will have to tell them where, when, why, with you are you going. And I definitely wouldn't want that so I just sneaked out.
Just as I was about to walk away, I felt a movement behind me that made me froze.
I slowly turned my head around, so slowly that I could make every single detail on the oak tree before me. Once I was fully turned, my heart stopped beating.
In front of me was a lean, attractive guy with a perfect jaw line, smiling widely at me, in a non-creepy way, showing his perfect white-teeth. I didn't want to stare at him but my curiosity got the best of me and I saw his white tank top, torn black skinny jeans, which fitted him perfectly and black boots covering his feet. He practically looked like a model. My eyes darted to his hand to find a sketch and some pencils in them.
I looked up to meet his light-brown eyes and saw him smirking at me.
"What are you doing here?" I asked him, but then realised how dumb I sounded.
He gazed down at me quietly, leaving me thinking about his mysterious aura. I didn't notice he was coming closer until I felt his presence next to me. He was standing a few feet in front of me. He let out a deep chuckle, clearly seeing my surprised face.
