Doppleganger

Everyone in the world has a doppleganger. A person who looks exactly like them in every way possible. I know it sounds amazing but it isnt cause the second you meet your doppleganger you might as well die.

When someone meets their doppleganger the Chain forms. The Chain connects the two forever. If one of them gets hurt, the other does too. If one dies, so does the other. The two are forced to stay together forever so neither one gets hurt. One major way to do that is move into a saftey institute.

Some people cant handle spending their entire life stuck with their doppleganger. They just cant take it, so they try forgetting it. They live their life like they used to, always hoping that the doppleganger wont die. The Chain doesnt like that though. The Chian is a living thing, a very cruel living thing. To punish the abandoner the Chain will kill the doppleganger in the worst way it can think of so that the abandoner has to go through the same thing.

Most people never meet their dopplegangers. They were all moved to remote places in the world. Dark forests, mountains, etc. But some people cant stop meeting their dopplegangers. These are commonly known as twins but really they're people born with their dopplegangers. These unfortunate people are sent away to saftey institutes immediatly and are usually pretty dumb since they never get to experience the real world.
