• The Princess •
It was sunset when we arrived. I ran into the castle, trailing dirt on the carpet. I didn't care. I had to see my mother.
Bursting into the dining hall, I saw her. She was sitting alone, picking at the last of the food.
She looked up at me. Throwing herself out of the chair, she ran to embrace me in a hug.
"Oh my Marie, darling!" She cried. "You're safe!"
"Mother I need to tell you something-" I broke away and looked her in the eye.
"-Yes, but first, come and meet the savior!" She rejoiced and held my hand, leading me into the hall.
"Savior?"
"My dear, this castle has been-"
"-cursed." I finished for her. "Mother, I know. That is why I left in the first place."
"I am so glad you did." She cupped my face. "The curse hasn't taken another life yet, and help has arrived."
"Help?"
"Sorceress Sithra." My mother clasped her hands together. "She has come to break the curse!"
"Thank the stars!" I smiled and followed my mother.
"Come my dear." She led me into a room. "We have much to talk about."
