Parent Duty

"This might sting a little but you will feel better immediately, then we can get you something to eat!" Allura kindly inquired to the child, but she noticed that he didn't listen and was looking at the healing pod Lance was put in, he was trembling and still had tears streaking down his face.

"It's alright buddy, Lance is strong so he will be okay!" Keith explained with a calm voice he wrapped his arms around the child's small body. Keith knew that he was worried and that he was hurting hard after learning about his father's passing, of course, Keith knew the feeling. Shiro also took this hard, he is probably depressed in his room and should probably check on Shiro in a bit to make sure he was okay. 

The Healing Pod Lance is in starts to signal that it has finished healing. It opens up and Keith stands to hold lance from falling over. "Good to see you up, you better now?" Keith asked. 

"Yup, my arm is better now," Lance said in a groggy voice, the child shot up to hug Lance as tight as he could. "Whoa, hey, did you wait for me to wake up, don't worry I was fine in there and look, my arm is all better." Lance beamed as he moved his arm to show that it was all better now. 

Keith put his hand on the kids head and ruffled his hair. "See, Lance is all better now so you don't have to cry anymore." The child looked at Keith and gave a trusting smile t Keith and lance. 

"Well, now that lance is up and better why don't we get that food I talked about.' Alurra grabbed the child by the hand and lead him to the door to leave to the dining area. "Keith! Tell Lance about the mission and then bring him to the dining quarters so we can discuss our next move." She commanded then left to the dining area. Keith and Lance looked at each other they were alone together, Keith was still holding Lance's body up. 

"So, you can let me go now," Lance asked.

"Ri-right!" Keith yelled with a slightly panicked expression for holding Lance so long, Lance smiled at his reaction, Keith looked down and he blushed. "Lance about last night and this morning," Keith started to express that he wanted to talk about the night he had with Lance. 

"Keith can we talk about this later," Lance asked

Keith frowned at his request. "sure, I guess we can talk about it later." Lance put his hand on Keith's shoulder.

"Thanks for understanding," He gave a smile to Keith Keith gave one back. "So what about the mission, Allura wanted you to tell me about it," Lance asked as they started to head to the dining area.

"Right, well we succeeded by saving the kid, and we learned his name is Marin, but the piolet didn't make it due to injuries." Lance frowned at the news. "and it turns out that he was the kid's father." Lance stopped and gave Keith a saddened look. 

"I see, does he know?" asked Lance

"Yeah, he does, Shiro had to break the news and now he's also a little down," Keith explained. 

They both entered the room, the kid was joyfully sitting down eating and being pampered by Allura and Hunk. Pidge was across from the table working on the item that was given to Shiro by the pilot, they were deciding to see what other information they can get. Lance and Keith walk up to the table.

"Hey there buddy, you enjoying that goo." Lance happily questioned the child.

"Hey, don't forget to clean yourself up a little," Keith chimed. 

"He can clean up after eating Keith,"

Yeah but it will be less of a hassle if he cleans up now instead of after. 

Does it matter it's going to be cleaned by both of you in the end

Why do we have to clean up after, and what are you doing anyway?" Lance questioned as he went and snuck behind pidge to see what she was typing.

"First off we don't have butlers to clean up after us and since you and Keith are fighting over cleaning you are automatically signed up to clean the table, and I'm working to decode so can you not stand  behind me," Pidge said in an annoyed monotone voice, Lance frowned at her logic. 

Shiro finally came to join and they all started to discuss their plan. Pidge had found coordinates where they were to drop off the device, and they believed they could find information on the way as too know where to find Marin's mother and home.

"Alright, every one we set out after we all rest up," Shiro commanded, everyone nodded their head in agreement.

"One question though where is, little Marin here going to sleep," Hunk asked every one turned to Marin who was now sitting on Pidge's lap. 

"Why don't we ask him?" Pidge inquired. "Where do you want to sleep, little guy?" Marin shrugged.

"Oh, I have an idea, why don't we play house and whoever he chooses as the parent will have to sleep with him and keep a watch on him," Allura explained, the child nodded rapidly at her idea and got down from Pidge's lap. He closed his eyes and pondered to himself a bit, then opened his eyes with the look of agreement to what he just thought. He lifted his finger and started to point.

"Auntie, and uncle," he pointed at pidge and Hunk.

"Sweet is an aunt." Pidge inquired with a delightful smile as well as Hunk.

"Grandma and grandpa." He pointed at Shiro and Allura

"Ha, that's probably because you both have white hair." Pidge snickered, Allura frowned at pidge's comment while Shiro gave a sadden confused look while touching the white floor on his head.

"Crazy man!" He pointed to Coran, everyone snickered, he was not amused. 

Marin then started to run towards Lance and Keith, who was standing right next to eachother and gave them a hug. "Mommy and Daddy!" He shouted with delight.
