Your hand is trembling slightly as you hold both the now-crumpled prescription and your phone, which is one click away from calling the number typed on it. You glance nervously from the paper to the screen, and contemplate putting the phone down and getting back to work, but something is keeping you still.

Until you click the little green button.

You lift the phone to your ear and your heart rate quickens with every prolonged beep. You hear someone picking up the phone, and then you hear his voice, soft, deep, and welcoming. "Hello?"

You gulp down the lump in your throat. "Hi, um, is this Kylo?" Of course, you knew it was, you didn't know why you asked that.

"Yes, who is this?" You want to smack yourself. Telling him who you were at first might have been a good idea.

"Oh, it's Y/N. We met a couple days ago.. at your office?"

"Oh, hello! I was, uh, wondering if I'd get a call from you." You bite your lip and lean back in your office chair. You have to be quiet in case your boss catches you taking personal calls during office hours.

"Yeah.. sorry it took a while." You pause and shift a little in the chair. The cold leather reminds you of the one in his office. "I was a little-"

"Nervous?" You giggle a little under your breath, and you hear a chuckle through the phone. "I suspected. I'm glad to hear from you." You smile and push yourself back to the edge of your desk, leaning against the counter and resting your head in your hand.

"So.. are you, possibly, free..? around noon today? I thought maybe.. we could go get coffee, or something, because your office isn't too, um, far from my building, and-"

"I'd love to." You grin as you mess with the piece of paper in your hand. "There's a coffee shop on the corner of Smith and 12th, called The District. Meet me there at noon?"

"Absolutely, see you then." Once you hang up, the little smile doesn't leave your face for the next two hours.

The coffee shop you arrive at his quaint. The outside is covered in ivy and the patio area filled with tiny tables with individual daisies in their own little vases on top. You pull open the door and step inside to be greeted by warmth and the smell of fresh coffee, as well as some chocolatey pastry scent that's wafting at you. There's soft indie music playing in the background, and once you glance around a little bit, you see the handsome doctor himself situated in a chair that's much too small for him, at a table that's very,.. intimate, due to its size.

He looks up from whatever book he's reading, mid-sip of his cappuccino, and once he's swallowed the beverage, he smiles warmly up to you. You walk over, trying to seem confident, but your stomach is filled with butterflies.

"Hey there," he greets, standing up to pull your chair out for you. You blush at the chivalrous gesture, and once he sits down, you giggle awkwardly because you don't know what to say. A few days ago, this man was inspecting your teeth, and now he's sitting across from you in a charming little coffeehouse and looking at you like you've got him entranced.

"How are you," you manage to get out, finally.

"I'm doing very well," he says before taking a small sip of his coffee, "how about you?"

"i'm great." You suddenly get very self-conscious about how you may be smiling a little.. too much, but you're excited and happy and for some reason, Kylo's voice sends shivers down your spine.

"Would you like anything?" he asks, and you accept his offer. You tell him your coffee order and he goes up to the counter to get it for you. You use this time to check him out, thoroughly, and without shame. As you entered the coffee shop and saw him sitting there, you couldn't help but notice how good he looked. He's wearing a blazer and a nice button-up shirt, and another pair of slacks that hug his figure. His hair is just as perfect as the last time, and you just want to drink in his appearance while you have the chance.

He comes back shortly with a coffee in his hand, which looks very small in comparison, though it's a large. You couldn't help yourself, ordering a large. You just want to make the date last as long as you can. He tells you that he also ordered you a little surprise to share. No more than 10 seconds later, a barista brings a small plate to your table with a mini chocolate cake sitting beautifully decorated upon it.

"Aren't you supposed to tell me not to eat sugary stuff, you know, because you're a dentist?" He chuckles and hands you one of the forks the barista brought as well.

"As long as you promise to floss, I'll let it slide this time." You giggle and try a bite of the cake as he does the same, and you both moan at the taste of the rich chocolatey goodness. You use your thumb to wipe off a little bit of frosting from the corner of your lips and you look up to see him watching attentively, a small smile on his features before he notices he's been caught and looks away, clearing his throat.

You both continue taking small bites from the plate and sipping gradually at your coffees as you spiral into a lively discussion about your lives, your jobs, dreams, high school years, etc. You wouldn't be surprised if it's dark by the time you break your focus on each other to look at the time. Luckily, you two both got off at noon for the day, so the fact that you stay there for a good 4 hours, long after the cake was gone and your coffees cold, doesn't really matter to either of you. And, though you both decide it's probably time to leave and let someone else in the busy coffee house use the table, ending your first date, you both know it certainly won't be the last.
