"After he blacked out, I left him at the hospital."

The next day, M.I.F.P had yet another meeting.

Shinra was nearly exploding with joy. "I can't believe it! My plan actually worked!" He spun around to face the sullen Shizuo. "And what did he say?! Huh, Shizuo?!"

The Beast of Ikebukuro closed his eyes and looked away, his expression as hard and stiff as a rock. "Something about not knowing how he felt. He was... Losing it. I could see from the way he"-Shizuo sighed, and his voice fell to a hush-"Was yelling at me."

The entire room grew quiet.

Anri broke into a sob, thinking the situation as a sad love story. Mikado patted her shoulder, and Kida looked like a ghost, his face pale.

Kyohei shook his head and muttered, "That's cold, man."

Togusa shrugged. "I don't really care. Though, it is kinda cold."

"Kinda?!" Chikage gave a sad smile as he shook his head. "It's just plain cruel. Not even Izaya is monster enough to hide his pain. Especially when it was caused by love... Though he is pretty monster," He added.

"Awww! So you guys broke up?! Too bad!" Erika piped.

Walker raised an eyebrow and turned to Erika. "Wait a minute. Doesn't this story sound like the one in that BL manga?!"

Namie rolled her eyes and turned toward Shizuo. "He's not hurt. He's probably just pissed off. Now he's gonna wanna get you back." When seeing the doubtful look on Shizuo's face, she added, "I technically live with him, for God's sake. Believe me, I know what he's like."

After more moments of nothing but awkward silence, Shizuo decided to break it.

"Anyway!" The blonde announced, getting up, and, this time, not slamming or grinding the table. He narrowed his eyes and gave Shinra a frightening glare. "I quit."

"What?!" The doctor squeaked. "But why?!"

"Because!" He shouted. "It's already over! Your operation is finished! Now, I gotta go check on Izaya. Goodbye." He untangled himself from his chair and was nearly out the door when Kida and Mikado were suddenly at his sides. "C-can we come?"

Mikado waved the bouquet of flowers in his fist.

Shizuo studied the teenagers, than the flowers. "Sure. Whatever."

Together, the trio walked all the way to the hospital.

It was when they entered the enormous double doors when Mikado spoke up. "Um, Heiwajima-san? It was only a little black-out, right? Why did you feel the need to bring Orihara-san to the hospital?"

The Fortissimo stopped and thought about this question. "'Cuz I was wondering if he hurt himself, falling that hard." He heard Mikado gulp.

After dealing with the receptionist, Shizuo recieved Izaya's room number.

517.

It meant they had to use the elevator, which made the blonde growl.

In the elevator, both teens were miraculously quiet, though Shizuo couldn't help but notice how silent Kida had been through all of it. He poked the other blonde, who snapped back into reality from his trance.

"Yeah, Shizuo?" He said slowly, as if he thought his lips would never need to use the name "Shizuo" in his entire life.

Shizuo raised an eyebrow. "You ok? You seem kinda... Out of it. You sure you wanna stay here?"

Kida gave a faint grin. "Yeah, I'm good. It's just that"-He caught his breath-"This hospital just brings back memories. Bad memories." After a moment he added, "But I'll be fine. Don't worry about me."

Shizuo tried a grin back.

Then he glanced at Mikado. "Where did you get those from?" He questioned, eyeing the bouquet in the younger male's hands. "I mean, how were you so prepared?"

Mikado blushed. "Actually, these were for Anri, but... I thought Izaya-san needed some flowers to relate to, as well."

The blonde raised an eyebrow. "Flowers to relate to?" He echoed.

Mikado blushed even harder. "B-because Izaya-san is kind of like a flower. He blooms, and needs food and water to grow. But what he really needs at the moment is some nice, warm sunshine." The high-schooler broke into a smile, and Shizuo nearly mistook him for a poet at the time.

Finally, the elevator doors re-opened with a screech.

The 3 males stepped out, looking down at the big hallway.

Kida's pupils went small, but Shizuo didn't notice.

Instead, Mikado gave him a small pat.

It took some time finding the correct room, for Shizuo kept on knocking on the wrong doors, getting replies from annoyed doctors.

It was Mikado who spotted room 517.

Shizuo sucked in a breath as he stood before the long-lost room, but before he could knock, Kida interrupted. "Are-are you going to, you know, apologize to Izaya?"

Shizuo exhaled. "That's why I quit M.I.F.P. I did it for him."

Mikado gave a heart-warming smile at Kida, who returned it happily.

Shizuo drew in another breath, then knocked.

A doctor opened the door to respond. "Yes? Are you here to visit?"

"Uh, yeah," Shizuo answered, uncertainty high in his voice. "Izaya Orihara? May we please see him?"

The doctor sighed, as if he was the one to cause the raven all this trouble. "Actually, you may see him, though he won't talk back. It seems he's hit quite a sensitive spot on the back of his head during his fall, which has caused him to go into a coma."

The three boys gawked.

"WHAT?!"
