Aaron smiles, his beautiful smile that kills me every time, and I lay my ear against his warm chest, listening to his heartbeat. It's almost like a lullaby to me.

"Don't fall back asleep, Aph," Aaron laughs. I smile, listening closer to his heart beat steadily.

"Can we just... spend the whole day like this? I don't really want to get up," I admit. Aaron chuckles, the sound radiating through his chest.

"Me neither," he agrees, hugging my body closer.

If only I could spend my anniversary like this. Maybe I can? Chilling out with my boyfriend--that's romantic, right?

"Maybe we don't have to get up," I suggest.

"What about breakfast?"

"Well, I didn't think about that," I admit.

We sat there in silence for a few minutes, hesitating to get up. My back popped loudly in complaint as I stretched out on the edge of my side of the bed. Aaron did the same, and I took the opportunity to lay back down.

"What do you think you're doing?" He asks, grinning.

"What does it look like I'm doing?" I reply, spreading my arms out to fully enjoy the comfort of the bed. I watch as Aaron strolls around to my side of the bed, the grin never leaving his face. I squeal as he plops down on top of me, holding himself so that I don't feel his weight.

"You left yourself vulnerable, that's what you did," he snickers. "I was going to make breakfast... but I think I'd rather stay here now," he says, delicately moving strands of hair away from my face. My heart beats faster from his touch. He smirks, observing my slightly dazed expression.

Deciding to push it further, he presses his soft lips just under my jaw. I search for words, but my thoughts suddenly become scrambled. With my mind disabled, speaking coherent words becomes simply impossible. Aaron's lips trail down my neck, and I can feel the lift of the grin on them.

"Um," I manage.

Brilliant, I should be a poet.

The heat from Aaron's body causes my breath to become much too shallow and shaky. My entire body becomes frozen in place, despite the heat pulsing through it. My heart is now beating out of my chest, I wouldn't be surprised if he could feel it.

Aaron's lips make their way back up to my jaw before shaping themselves around my own. I break my arms from their invisible restraints to tangle my fingers in his soft hair. He does the same, pulling me impossibly closer.

After a moment, he disappoints me by ripping his lips away, staring into my eyes instead. It takes me a moment to come back to reality, and once I do, I hear his heavy breathing now matching mine.

"Wow, okay," he says, his voice shaky.

"Why'd you stop?" I ask, the disappointment showing in my voice.

"I think you're overestimating my self control," he replies, a smile tugging at his lips.

"I'm not asking for self control," I reply. He kisses my forehead before lifting himself off of me. I find myself reaching out for him, begging him to come back. He snakes his arms under me before picking me up, holding me close to his chest.

"You can't do that to me, you know," he accuses, a light laugh reminiscent in his voice.

"You started it!" I reply in an incredulous tone. He grins again before carrying me out of our room, and down into the kitchen.

He pulls a chair out from the dining table with his leg before setting me down in it, kissing my forehead.

"What'do you want for breakfast?" He asks in a soft voice, kneeling down to meet my eye level.
