(Back to Aphmau's POV)
I open my eyes to bright light blinding me. I can feel something warm and familiar around my hand. I look around to see a very familiar room. A hospital room.
I look over, and Aaron is by my bed, holding my hand.
"Aph?" He asks. I nod.
"I think so... " I smile, and he laughs a little. "Why... am I at the hospital?" I ask. I look around again, and Aaron is the only one here. "What happened?"
"Well..." Aaron traces small circles on my hand with his thumb. "First, you passed out, when I was at your house. You stopped breathing, so I called 911. Katelyn, KC, and I came here, but you wouldn't wake up. We waited, and waited, but you kept slipping in and out of being concious. After a while, the doctors took you in for some tests, and we are waiting for the results. I'm just hoping you'll stay awake this time," He says.
"Wait... how long have I been here?" I ask. Aaron looks down at his watch. He looks back up at me.
"Five... five hours, I think," He says. My eyes widen.
"What..." I say. Aaron nods. He looks down. I can tell he's really tired. He's really worried about me, he always is. I cup his face with my hand, and he lifts his head up to look at me. I rub his cheek a little with my thumb.
I lean in, and press my lips against his in a soft kiss. I break the kiss, and look him in the eyes.
"I'm okay, I promise," I assure him. He looks down again. I turn my head slightly. "Aaron. I'm awake, I'm breathing, I'm okay," I say softly.
"Well, that isn't good enough for me." He looks up at me. "I know whatever was happening with you wasn't normal. I just want to see you happy and healthy. I hate seeing you in this hospital," He says.
"I hate being here too Aaron. But last time, I was lucky to even live. And then I made a full recovery. If I made it out of that alive, then I can make it out of whatever this is alive. You have to trust me, I'll come out of this hospital like nothing ever happened," I tell him. He nods, and I smile.
I hear a knock on the door.
"Hey lovebirds!" I hear a familiar, perky voice. I look over, and see Alina in the doorway with a clipboard. She's wearing a navy blue outfit like the rest of the nurses.
"Alina!" I throw my arms open, and she comes up and hugs me. She hugs Aaron as well.
"Guess what!" She says as she closes the door. Aaron and I look at her for an answer. "I'm finally a nurse! I'm no longer the desk lady!" She says.
"Really?!" I say. She smiles big.
"Yeah! I went to med school, but I just never got the opportunity for the job!" She says. "And you just so happen to be my patient!"
"Yay!" I exclaim. Aaron looks at me.
"Wait... does that mean you have the test results back?" He asks. Alina's smile fades away.
"Uhm... yeah I do..." She says as she looks down at her feet.
"What does that mean? Is it bad?" I ask. She looks back up.
"See... that's the thing. The tests were inconclusive," She says. "It left us with a few possibilities... some of them are very serious.. like cancer."
"Wait what how does that explain me passing out?" I ask in horror.
"It's stress on the body. Everyone is different. It could also be an enlarged heart which is also very serious..." Alina says as she starts to tear up. "So, we need to schedule an MRI to see if we can find anything. But before we do that... is there any possibility that you could be pregnant? That was one of the simpler possibilities," She says as she looks at me, then Aaron. Aaron and I look at eachother, and I blush hard. I shake my head.
