Caroline takes me home. My dad hugs me right when I walk through the door. "Dad?" I ask. He usually won't do this. Ever since Jacob died, he hasn't been the same. "I'm glad you are ok. I'm sorry for yelling at you on the phone." He doesn't let go of me. I decide to hug him back. "You have to know that I can take care of myself." I break away and look at him. "I'm not your little girl anymore." He smiles weakly and pats my head. "I know." He kisses the top of my head I run upstairs to my room. I lay on my bed and close my eyes. "Ava." He spoke. I quickly grabbed the dagger I keep on my bedside table and throw it at him. He catches it before it punctures him. "Nate. Why are you here?" I sit up. "I didn't explain what happened," he said walking towards me. "I know what I saw." I say sternly. "But what you saw wasn't the truth." I sigh. He is now sitting next to me on my bed. "Go ahead, explain." I roll my eyes. "That night, I was compelled by Henry. Henry was a very bad vampire. He was a ripper, as we had to kill him. "That doesn't make sense though," I say, "Werewolves can't be compelled." I shake my head. "Alphas can't be." He explained. "Henry wanted you, and he do anything to get to you. Killing Jacob was going to destroy you, it would make it easier to get to you." I am trying to go over this in my head. "I know he wanted to kill me. " Nate looks at me with sorrow filled eyes. "I am so sorry I killed him. It wasn't me. Our pack goes against lycanthrope laws. We protect, unlike other packs who kill." It is starting to make sense. "I, um," I usually don't apologize to werewolves. "I am sorry for, stabbing you." I try to say apologetically. "It's fine. It already has healed." He lifts his shirt and boy, that man has abs.

Ava, you're staring. There were two little spots where I stabbed him, but they have healed. "Wow, how long did it take to heal?" I never really knew this. "Well, you stabbed me pretty good, so a couple of hours." I nod when I hear footsteps. I stand and push him towards my closet. "Hide and be quiet." He nods and closes the closet door. My dad opens the bedroom door as soon as the closet door closed. "Who are you talking to?" I shake my head. "No one, you're hearing things." He Shakes his head, "No I'm pretty sure I heard two voices-" I staring closing the door. "Goodbye dad." I close the door and go back to my closet. I open it and Nate steps out.

"I think you need to leave." I whisper. He nods and heads toward my window. So that is how he got in here. I walk over to it with him. "Thank you for explaining." He nods and climbs over the railing. "Goodbye, Avallen." And he is gone.

"Caroline, I have been wrong for two years." I say into the phone.

"What did he say?"

"He was being compelled by Henry, he told Nate to kill Jacob so he could get to me easier."

"Oh, sounds like something Henry would do."

"Yeah, just please don't become a ripper."

"I won't, I drink from blood bags. Remember?"

I do volunteer work at the local blood bank and slip some bags to Caroline when she is running low.

"You know what I mean, you dork."

She doesn't reply.

"I can hear you smiling Caroline." That makes her laugh.

"Sorry to bail on you Ava, but I am going to the grill with Joseph,"

I nod, then realize that she can't see me.

"Okay, that's fine. Talk to you later."

We say our goodbyes then she hangs up. It's only 8, so I text Sydney, my normal friend. I mean it in a good way.

Me: hey girl, haven't seen you in awhile, want to go clubbing?

It takes her about a minute to reply.

Sydney: yeah! Let's go. Be ready in ten.

Me: alright ;)

Since we are going partying, I decide to put on my strapless, short, sliver and black, sequenced and fringe dress , with my black strapped heels. I curl my hair real quick, and do a smoky eye look. I apply red lipstick. I put silver earrings in, and a elbow length leather jacket to top it. I hear honking, and I know it is her. Luckily, my dad is in the basement, so I write a note and stick it on the door, then I am gone.

We get to this club called Pandemonium. "Let's go here." We park and there is a huge Line. "Let's try to convince him go let us in." Sydney says. She is wearing a purple, one sleeve, short dress with black heels. Her hair is slicked back into a pony tail. Guys whistle when we walk buy them. We get to the front, and Caroline walked up, her blonde hair curled. She is in a short red dress, with black wedges.

"I thought you went with Joseph?" She shook her head. "He bailed on me." I nod. "I'm going to try and get us in." I start walking to the bouncer, but Caroline stops me. "I will handle this." I smile. Se walks up to the guy. "You are going to let us in ok?" He nods. She turns and looks at three guys who are in front of the line. They are cute and checking us out. You can get into a club at 16, and you can drink at 17. I can get Caroline to compell the bartender to give me drinks. "And those 3 guys are with us." The man nods again. "Alright." He lets the guys in and us. A man walks up to me. "I'm Wes." He holds his elbow out. I take his arm and walk into the club. "Ava." I say over the music. He smiles. "Wanna dance." I nod and smile. "Yeah!" We make our way over to the dance floor and the music is pounding. I start to sway my hips to the music. He places his hands on my sides, ad dances with me. He starts to slide his hands down my sides, but I quickly raise them back to my stomach side. He lowers them again, but I repeat it. "Come on Ava, let loose." He touches my butt, put I push him back. "Get away from me loser," I turn to walk away, but he grips my arm. "No, dance with me." He pulls me close to him, our bodies touching. He now has both his hands on my behind. "You perv. Get away from me." I try to push him away, but he doesn't move."No." He practically growls. Caroline is now my by side. "She said for you to go away." She grabbed his wrist and twisted it backwards. He let go of me and fell to the ground, holding his wrist. I smile at Caroline. "Thanks." She smiled and hugged me. "It was nothing. I am going to get you a drink." She grabbed my wrist and walked over to the bar. "Give us 20 rounds of Alabama Slammers." She compells, the man does as told. This is our routine. Sydney and I challenge each other. I can handle myself pretty well, but I have never had 10 shots in a matter of 2 minutes. In 2 minutes we have to down at least 5 shot in 2 minutes. I have never been drunk. I look at Caroline. "10 each? Are you serious?" She nods. "You will be fine," she reassures me. "SYDNEY!" She calls to her. She makes her way over here. "Ok, get ready." I have my shots in front of me, facing them. Some people have gathered around us. "Go!" Caroline yells and I chug mine down, I'm 5 in and I'm my head is spinning. I have never had Alabama Slammers before, but I like them. 7 in , and I can't see correctly. I win, but I can't walk. My vision is blurry and a familiar face walks up to me. "Ava what are you doing here?" Nate ask.

I meant to say, what are you doing here?, but I said, "you're cute," I'm drunk. I walk up to him and place my hand on his chest. "Are you drunk, Ava?" He asks. Yes. "Pssh, no. I'm fine." My words are slurring together. "Yeah you are." Please help me. "Wanna dance?" I ask him, but I don't mean to. "Come on, I'm taking you home." He slips his arm under my knees and carries me bridal style. I think he walks over to Caroline. "I'm taking her home." He says to her. "Okay." She says. The last thing I remember is him putting me in the front seat of his car.

Once he gets me home, I can see clearer, but I'm still drunk. He carries me upstairs to my room. My parents are asleep, thankfully. He sets me down. "Can you stay?" I ask him. I don't know why, but my excuse is that I am drunk. He nods "yeah." He sits on my bed. I kick my shoes off, pull my jacket off, take off my earrings and slide out of my dress. I quickly pull on some pajama shorts and a tank top. It's dark in my room, but I can make out his silhouette. He is laying down. I lay down next to him. "Thank you." I say. "You're gonna feel like hell in the morning," I look at him. "I know." And I don't know why, but I lean in and kiss him. He kissed me back, but then pulls away. "Ava you're drunk." I look at him. "I know what I'm doing. I am not as drunk, just a little tipsy." I kiss him again. He responds by placing a hand on my cheek, kissing me back. The kiss gets deeper, and more passionate. I want to continue, but I'm tired. I break away and look at him. I think he can tell I'm tired. "Go to sleep Ava." I yawn, and nod. He pulls the covers over us. He puts his arm around my shoulder, and I snuggle into him. "Go to sleep.", is the last thing I hear before I drift off.
