Chapter 5

I wake up and my head is pounding. I'm laying on top of Nate. I am laying on top of a shirtless Nate. What? I push off of him and it wakes him. He yawns. "What are you doing here?" I ask him, quite alarmed. "You don't remember last night?" He looks at me. "I don't-," I start but try to think. "I kissed you, right?" I ask, somewhat confused. He nods. Oh no, what have you done Ava? "You need to leave." I push him off my bed and throw him his shirt. "Why?" He sounds hurt. "I was drunk, now please go before my dad comes." I say harshly. He nods. "See ya." He says before disappearing. I decide to take a shower. I take the longest shower in history. I just sit and think while the water rinses me. I had a conversation with myself.

Oh Ava what were you thinking?

I wasn't! I was drunk.

A drunk mans action is a sober mans thought.

I'm a girl though.

Vice versa. Still, you kissed him. He didn't kiss you.

I finally get out and call Caroline. I ask her to come over, and I tell her everything.

"OMG! That is totes adorb." She squeals. I roll my eyes. "You did not just say what I think you did," I scoff. She pretends to be hurt. "Yes. I am trying modern slang. It is in," she says, "and btws, Nate is so into you." She smiles. I roll my eyes, again. "I was drunk. Ok so even if he is into me, I am not into him." I sit in my desk chair, while Caroline is on my bed. She raises her eyebrows. "Caroline. I don't. You would be able to tell." She nods. "I know you don't. I was testing you." I close my eyes and lean back in the chair. She is always positive. She has always been a good friend to me. "Ava, it is Saturday, you don't have to see him until Monday. Just don't think of him until then," she smiled, "Simple." She grabbed my nail file and started filing her nails. That gives me an idea. "Let's go get our nails done." She looks up at me. "Okay." She smiled.

After we get our nails done, we go eat lunch, then shopping. We are at JCPenny's, and that's when I see him. He is with his brother who I don't know the name of. We hide behind a shelf. "Caroline," she looks at me, "what are they saying?" I whisper. She turns her ear towards them. She whispers everything they say.

"....... and then she kissed me. She kissed Drake."

"Nate, she tried to kill you. She is a werewolf killer, her whole family is,"

"Drake!? Don't you think I know that! I just like her so much. She is so pretty, and has that nice personality,"

"You can't be with her Nate. Forget about her."

"Drake, it's not that easy,"

Caroline looks at me, I'm shocked. She looks alarmed. "He is coming," just as we are about to run, he appears behind Caroline. "Ava," he looks at me. "What are you doing here?" He smiles. I hold the bags up. We went shopping in some other places before here. "Shopping." I pause, "what are you doing here?" He sighs. "I'm looking for someone." I nod, "Who?"

His look changes, he is being serious. "I'm looking for Lucas."
