I call Caroline and Nate to tell them. They rush over again. "Caroline why does he want me? You used to date him." I say to her. "Yeah, USED to date him. I have no idea though." She shrugs. Nate sits next to me on the bed with his arm around my shoulder. I don't really know if we are "dating". There is too much going on now. "You should stay at my place. It's isolated, and we can protect you because of the vampire rule." Caroline huffs. Nate looks at her. "I can get it lifted for you." He adds. Her narrowed eyes turn into a smile. He nods. "We can also protect you." He kisses the top of my head.

Caroline buts in, "If he has his ring, he can get through though." I nod. "Yeah, but it could still work." I stand and grab a suitcase from my closet and start packing clothes. "What are you doing?" Caroline asks. "Packing. We are leaving tonight. He has been invited into my house." I don't look at them while I shove clothes from my drawer into suitcase. I walk into my closet and grab a few items from there. They are still sitting there. I grab my shoes and start to put them on. "Ava what about your parents?" Caroline asks. I think for a moment. "I will leave a note, they can handle themselves." I sigh.

Caroline is driving and Nate is in the passenger seat. I'm in the back of the car slowly falling asleep. It's almost midnight. After maybe 30 minutes of sleep, I wake up. I hear them arguing so I decide to listen.

"All I am saying is that I don't think you should date her Nate."

"What? Really? Why not?"

"Because, SHE KILLS WEREWOLVES! Nate one day it's going to fire back on you."

"And you know this how?"

"NATE! Just please don't do this to her, she deserves better." Ouch.

"How dare you say that Caroline."

"Nate, listen to me. Stay away from Ava or I will kill you myself. You may think you can protect her but you can't. She lost her brother, and now Lucas is back. She has enough to deal with. And plus, when her father finds out what will you do. He will kill you! I'm doing this for you and her both. I don't want to see her get hurt." I hear Nate sigh.

"Your right. She does deserve better, but I Can't stay away from her. I have to try and protect her. It's my duty," He says firmly, "I will go to the ends of this earth to protect her, and you know why, Caroline." She slams on the brakes and I jerk forward, but I stop myself from hitting the back of the seat.

"Nate you can't. You CAN NOT!"

I decide to speak. "He can't what?" I say groggily. They both look back at me. "Nothing Ava, don't worry about it." I look at Nate. "No, tell me." I demand, Nate sighs. "Caroline was just saying that I can't wear plaid and khakis to the school dance." Why are you lying to me?

I nod and go back to sleep, with a million different thoughts on my mind.
