Tee Shirt - Birdy and Jaymes Young
My hearts beating a million miles an hour. The adrenaline of killing wolves is back. The feeling I have come so well to know.
Dylan looks over at me as he drives. "I smell blood." He looks at my arm. I have a jacket on so he doesn't see the bite.
"Yeah, when I was running, I fell and scraped my arm." I lie. He looks back at the road.
"Did you kill him?" He says quietly. "No, but I got two of his brothers. I hit Nate in the lung with silver, so he will be hurting for awhile." I sigh.
"Get some rest." Is all I hear Dylan say before I force my eyes close.

I wake up in my bed, light shines through my curtains. My arm hurts like hell. I can't hide it for long. Three days. That's all it takes for transition. First the sweats, then the hallucinations, then your first turn. All your bones break and transform, crucial pain.
I start to panic. "Dad! Dylan! Mom?" I yell from my bed. They all appear in my room in a few seconds. "Ava, are you okay what's wrong?" My dad asks. I pull my jacket sleeve up and show them. They all gasp. "Ava...." My mom trails.
I start to cry softly. "Dad I'm going to turn.. I-" he hugs me. He strokes my hair softly. "Shh. We can fix this." I cry harder. "Dad you know there is nothing to do. Nothing. No spell, or remedy."
Dylan stays silent, and my mom looks at him. She looks back at me, and shakes her head, crying. "I wish there was something I could do." He says quietly.
A moment later, with a loud thud, Caroline enters. "Ava." She says. She looks at my arm and gasps. She takes steps back and covers her mouth, shaking her head. "No..." She trails off.
"Let's give her some time." My dad stays while the others leave. "Dad. I don't want this." I shake my head as the sweats start. In minutes I'm sweating bullets. My dad has wrapped the bite, and I've changed into a tank top and shorts. I lay on my bed with a cool rag over my forehead.

The second day of my transition starts. I feel sick to my stomach. I roll over and see Nate sitting in the chair. I scream and Dylan appears out of no where. "What is it?" He looks worried. Nate vanishes. "I just- Nate was just- " I stutter. "The hallucinations are starting." He sighs and sits on the edge of the bed. His face morphs to Jacob's. "Jacob?" I say softly and lean to hug him, but his face vanishes, just like Nate's.
I shake my head. "I- I'm sorry. You should go." Dylan nods, kisses the top of my head, then leaves.
After a few minutes, Henry's voice echoes through my room
"Ava,"
I immediately sit up and search my room for him, but he is no where to be found.
"Ava my love, I would never hurt you."
It's there again. I try to calm myself but it isn't working. Then, horror strikes. Faces of lost loved ones, my enemies, my wort nightmares, appear in my room, chanting hurtful or beautiful things.
"Ava, you tasted wonderful."
"Ava, you let me die. I thought you loved my."
"Avallen, please help me. It hurts, it really hurts. Make it stop!"
"Ava, I don't want to become a vampire."
"I want to rip her head off!"
I cover my ears in attempt to drown them out, but it only makes it louder. I scream. "Stop!!!! Just stop!" I yell. All the voices stop when someone grabs my wrist. I look up at them, and I can tell my eyes are bloodshot.
It's my dad, "Ava. It's ok. Avallen, can you hear me?"
I nod, not saying anything. He sighs. "It's worse than I thought." He looks at me.
"Dad please make it stop." He nods, then picks me up. He carries downstairs and sets me down on the couch. He goes into the kitchen. Dylan sits in the chair, an my mother paces the room. My dad comes back with a glass of brown liquid. "Drink it. It will let you black out until the next phase." A single tear slips from his eye, until he completely breaks down into a pool of tears in front of me.
"My only child left....." He can't even finish. My mother kneels on the floor beside him and hugs him. She's crying as well. I reach my hand out for both of them. They grab it, and I give them the best smile I can force in this moment.

When I wake up, I'm still on the couch. "This is your last day of transition." Is all my dad says, before sitting back down.
"I don't want this." I say quietly. A knock at the door makes me jump.
When Dylan opens the door, the image of Nate makes me think I'm still hallucinating, but Dylan's greeting to him confirms that I'm not.
"What, come to watch me die?" I say through my teeth. He looks at me. "No, just to say, once you turn you will be forced to join my pack." A smirk plays on his face.
"Who said I was turning?" His eyes widen when I quickly grab the pocket knife f the side table and hold it to my throat. Everyone stands still. "Now Ava," Nate says, "No need to kill yourself."
I don't lower the knife, it's resting over my artery. Just a little nick....
"I'd rather die than become a werewolf."
"What? It's not that bad. Who knows, we might even become mates...." He says while looking straight at Dylan.
Not even a second passes before Dylan says, "Go to hell." And slams the door in his face.
I drop the knife. "I want Dylan to turn me." My whole family looks at me. My dad is completely shocked, "what?" Is all he says.
"You heard, I would rather be a vampire than a werewolf. It's that or kill me." I look him straight in the eye. He nods slowly. Dylan walks over to me, dread in his eyes.
