I don't think I could ever forget the emotion that was painted on your face when you grabbed my hand & told me to be happy. That you knew I wouldn't be happy trying to prove myself again to everyone. You understood. You were not mad , I assumed you would yell at me for how reckless I was with your feelings. I have always loved your eyes. But in that moment your eyes were the most breathtaking I've ever seen , yes they more green due to the emotion escaping them but also because they were honest & pure.
"Promise me you'll find happiness," you said gripping my fingers making sure I understood.
"I promise," I said as I tasted salt on my lips.
It was such a simple goodbye yet one I'll always think of.
I'll always think of those green eyes.
