23. Morning Sickness

I was trying hard not to laugh at what Earn texted but it was hard not to, so I ended up coughing and  disgruntling my face at the same time. It had been weeks since we started texting and I couldn't have been more sane than that.

I was quick to send my reply when Pau sat next to me. It was Saturday. We were at her condo, the diva asked me to fetch her so we could go to the play rehearsal together.

"I know I told you about Tae and I's medical results coming out negative of any reproductive health problems and that we're good to go but I never thought you'd be this happy."

I took the pineapple juice she was offering me.

"Thank you."

I took a sip and ignored her before I went and sent my reply to Earn.

"Okay. Alright. Just ignore me and pretend that I'm air while you're so busy trying to get fvcked!"

I spat my drink at my phone. Evil Pau was quick to move away.

"Goodness, Pau! Couldn't you be less dirty!?!"

Pau deadpanned.

"Will you stop acting like a 14 year old virgin? Huney, doesn't suit you. Not with you looking at your phone typing with your face that says: Come on Earn, say that you'll fvck me!"

I stopped cleaning my phone and facepalmed.

What did I do to end up with this kind of friend, heavens? I though I was dying!

"That's it, Pau! Let's go, or we'll gonna be late for the rehearsal, it would be a shame to keep the kids waiting."

Pau stood up, and followed me to the door.

"Are you really concerned about the kids, collectively or just one particular kid?"

I glared at her.

"Oh, right. You can't possibly be worried with the other kid, you were basically checking up on him every second that your phone's about to explode."

Pau knew about my recent status wit Earn. It was a week after our first dinner together when I told her. She went screaming on the library when it happened. Everybody was startled and Miss Puwing, the librarian, couldn't be more disappointed to realise it was us. Pau was actually banned at the library for a month. Not that she cared.

Since then, she seemed to have forgotten her disappointment over not being able to conceive and started updating/pestering me about Earn.

"We're taking it slow."

"What you mean is, you're trying to be a diva again. I can't see the point. You obviously like each other, why prolong the agony?"

"I'm not like you, Pau, okay. I need time."

"What you need is a good beating, for you to finally get to your senses!"

"If Earn is really serious, he'll wait."

"Oh, milady! I didn't know you were Liz Bennett."

"She wasn't ----"

"Yes she was, at some point she was crazy.Very you!"

"One of these days, Pau, I just felt like you will be outing us with your being crazy and nosy!"

I growled at Pau while we're walking towards the cultural hall.

"Huh! If I really would want that, It had happened long time ago, my friend. The thing is, I would want more for you to actually get together than be discovered."
