CHAPTER 53

I had never thought I'd ever see that woman again. With tiny, quiet steps I stepped back and turned. Before I could run up the stairs, someone grabbed my shoulder. "Where are you going Ash? I wanna introduce ya." I cursed under my breath when I found that Carder had stopped my escape.

I didn't turn around, afraid that the woman already recognized me. "No it's fine. Rider and I need to Uh...he needs to help me with my homework!" Carders grip didn't loosen and I really wanted to kick him where it hurts.

Eventually giving up I turned and met the red heads eyes. She smiled, not seeming to recognize me. I did a little happy dance in my head before I offered an awkward smile. "Hello." I gripped Riders hand making him look down at me curiously.

"Hey, my names Emily. Nice to meet you." I nodded, hugging Riders arm feeling extremely awkward. Thankfully it didn't seem like she recognized me. "Nice to meet ya too."

Kenneth and Carder had taken Emily away to the kitchen. I fell to the floor in relief and let out a long sigh. "Woah what's wrong?" Rider crouched down besides me and tilted his head. I sighed once more before looking his way. "That girl...she's the one who hit on me in that bar I followed Kenneth into." I whispered, afraid that they might hear.

Rider chuckled and shook his head. "Was it dark in the bar?" I thought about it before nodding my head slowly. He grinned and patted my head. "She might have not recognized you because it was dark then." I nodded, thinking back to the moment. "Yeah...yeah you're right!" I felt relieved.

Rider chuckled and pecked my forehead before helping me up. "Ash, Rider! Come get food." Rider and I glazed at each other before nodding. "For food." I said making him grin. "For food." And just with that Rider and I started running into the kitchen and towards the table.

Carder grabbed Kenneth's arm and pulled him out of the way of our destructive path. Rider and I both grabbed the plates Carder handed to us as we ran passed him and dived for a perfect piece of French toast.

Rider was the first one to grab a piece before calmly heading to the table, a smug look on his face. I groaned, holding my side as I inhaled some oxygen. "No fairrrr, you were in front of me!" I whined taking a piece and sitting next to him.

Kenneth and Emily watched us in question while Carder simply rolled his eyes. "This happens often." He said before sitting down with us. Kenneth took the seat between Rider and Carder making me a tiny bit cautious, it didn't help that Emily took the other seat besides me.

I huffed out one more sigh before digging into the delicious food.

I changed Caras name to Emily because I had totally forgotten that Riders mother's name is Cara 😂
