CHAPTER 59

After hugging Cara for a long time she let go. She smoothed my hair and smiled lovingly at me. "Rider went out to skateboard with a few friends, he'll be back soon." I giggled and nodded. "He hasn't changed that habit." She laughed and nodded, guiding me to sit on the couch.

"Would you like something warm to drink? Hot chocolate, coffee?" I smiled and nodded. "Hot chocolate please." She grinned and disappeared into the kitchen. I sighed and leaned back into the couch, regretting that I left my phone behind. I regretted the fact that I cried and ran out in the first place.

Cara came back to the living room with another mug of hot chocolate, this time the mug had a little quote on it. Not bothering to read it, I thanked her and took it from her hands. Loving the warmth the hot liquid provided. "Thank you Cara." I said, taking a small sip as to not burn my tongue.

She smiled and waved me off. "Don't worry about it. You are always welcome here." I smiled, a genuine smile. I appreciated her kind words.

After Cara and I were talking we heard the front door open. Rider appeared in the doorway and he smiled handsomely when he noticed my presence. "Hey Ash." I got up and jumped into his arms. He held me tightly, figuring out how I feel just by my hug and actions. "Ma we'll be in my room."

He pushed open the door with myself still in his arms. I didn't want to let go and he more than welcomed me to never. Once he closed the door he lied on his bed and hugged me closely. "What's wrong love?" I closed my eyes with my smile as I felt the vibrations every time he spoke.

"Something happened with Carder..." I simple said. He rubbed my back, not pressing for more details and that made me relieved. We just lay there, entangled with one another. We didn't even hear the pounding footsteps rush up the stairs until my brother slammed open the door.

Rider and I jumped in surprise and stared wide eyed at him. "Ash!" He gasped and finally inhaled some oxygen. He leaned against the wall and dropped his head in his hands. "Thank god you're here." He whispered making me feel extremely guilty.

I got up from the bed and walked towards my worried brother. "Carder I'm sorry. I had a lot of stuff going on in my head." I tried to explain but he just pulled me into a hug. "You know you can always talk to me right?" He whispered worriedly as I smiled hugging him back.

I didn't understand what was wrong with me in the morning when I had ran away.
He was still my awesome, dork of a big brother.
And nothing would change that.
