CHAPTER 48

When I had the thought of eating cookies with everyone I didn't expect this situation to arise.

I watched as my boyfriend was getting smothered by someone who wasn't me. I was sitting on the opposite couch with Gabe while Carder, Kenneth and Rider day in front of us on the other couch in that order.

The person who was bluntly smothering my boyfriend just happened to be the person I saw walk into a gay bar. I furrowed my brow and watched as Kenneth laughed at some Rider said, running his hand down Riders. 

I knew Rider would never cheat on me but just by the way Kenneth was flirting with him made me agitated and it was even worse that Rider was oblivious. I sighed and crunched down on another cookie.

"Slow down on the cookies, you'll get fat." Gabe said watching me as I had the tenth cookie in the last hour. I sighed and dropped the half eaten cookie on the table feeling my hunger disappear. "Shut up girl." Gabe gasped and started to rant something to me but I was too focused on Kenneth and my boyfriend.

I knew I shouldn't take my anger out on my brother but it had just happened and it was already done. "Hey you listening." When I didn't respond Gabe pinched the skin under my arm. I yelped and glared at him. "What?!"

Gabe raised an eyebrow, scanning my face. "What's wrong?" I frowned and glazed away. "Nuttin' " he crossed his arms, giving me the 'tell-me' look.

I sighed and let my elbows rest on my knees and my face in the palms of my hands. "Look at how Kenneth is acting in front of Rider." Gabe turned his head to look and at that moment Kenneth ran his hand down Riders arm while laughing.

Gabe noticed that little jester and almost choked on the cookie he was eating. He began coughing which actually made me laugh a little. I slapped my palm against his back as he hacked, trying to get the piece stuck in his throat out.

He eventually stopped coughing but we had gained the attention of the three people on the couch in front of us. "You okay?" Carder asked, his expression seemed more grim than usual. Gabe nodded and gulped down some water.

Gabe gazed at me before looking to Kenneth and back to me. I sheepishly smiled and shrugged my shoulders.
