Basil and Olivia, stood there, studying his scars and injuries. Basil noticed that he had scratches on his wings, and face. They were very similar to the scratches that were on his face, when he was fighting his archenemy on Big Ben.

"You guys have to listen to me." Fidget said, struggling to speak.

"I'd rather listen to you dying!" Olivia replied with hatred. "Let's go, Basil." She started storming back to the lair. Basil ran after her.

"Olivia wait!" He ran in front of her, and stopped so she would halt. "If we stay with him, he might tell us where Ratigan is."

"Are you kidding? That bat is a crook! Have you forgotten what he done to my father and I? He kidnapped my father, leaving me, 8 years of age all alone! And on top of that, he locked me in a glass bottle."

"Olivia, listen, yes it looks bad what he did- but he is our key to Ratigan. You don't have to talk to him. Leave that to me. But please, you have to be civil for just five minutes."

There was a long silence.

Olivia finally gave in and nodded. Basil smiled and they both walked back to Fidget's cell. Basil slowly took his gun out, and point it at Fidget. Fidget, strikingly lifted both his shattered wings. They were covered with dark, sharp, bloody scratches, that were definitely from a rat.

"So much for being civil." Olivia mumbled, sarcastically.

"Basil, please." Fidget said, desperately.

"I won't shoot you, unless you tell me where Ratigan has gone."

"Why, don't be ridiculous." Fidget, anxiously laughed. "He's dead."

Basil got his gun ready to shoot.

"No, wait!" Fidget exclaimed.

Not backing down, Basil still held his gun to the injured bat.

"I will free you, and do whatever you need to keep you alive, if you just tell me..." He came closer to Fidget, and kneeled down to the same eye level as him, "where is Professor Ratigan? I know he's still alive."

"I will tell you, just please lower your gun."

Basil resisted.

"Thank you." Sighed Fidget.

Basil took a few steps back, to stand in line with Olivia.

"I'm waiting." Basil said, impatiently.

"Before I ask, how do you know he's still alive? Nobody is supposed to know."

"Isn't it painfully obvious? Your wings have been scratched, which I can tell, were put there by a rat. After luckily surviving being dropped in the water front by your arrogant boss, you floated to shore and that's where you and your boss reunited and went under cover for 10 years. He survived because you risked your life saving him, is that not true?"

Olivia and Fidget looked at Basil in amazement.

"Yes." Replied Fidget. "But that doesn't answer my question."

"Miss Flangerhanger here has lost her father yet again. This time she had defined proof that it was Ratigan. He was there during her lecture, which means he went up to Scotland that day to kidnap her father. And he left the footage behind."

Basil shown Fidget the picture of Ratigan's thugs that had tied up Mr Flaversham.

"Are you going to answer my question now?" Asked Basil.

"OK, but what I tell you, please don't freak out."

Basil and Olivia looked at each other, not sure what he's on about.

"Reach into my pocket, and get the picture."

So Basil done that, and when he took it out, Olivia came closer to see what it was. It was a picture of Olivia's father and Fievel, chained up and abused, violently. Olivia gasped in horror. Basil put his arm around her to calm her down.

"Did he do this to them?"

Fidget nodded.

"Where are they now?"

"They've gone to the new lair, with them. I don't know what he plans on doing to them. But if I were you. I would go there immediately. I would say you don't have much time left."

"But where is the new lair, Fidget?" Basil asked, getting worked up.

"I don't know. Honestly, I wish I could tell you."

Olivia was panting in panic.

"Although, I did manage to sneak something out of Ratigan's pocket; it's from the new lair."

Basil and Olivia's faces lit up. Basil came closer to Fidget.

"My left pocket." Fidget signalled.

Basil reached in, and all he found was a cog from a clock.

"That is from a clock." Olivia recognised. "His new lair is in a clock."

"Yep." Replied Fidget.

"Do you know what clock exactly?" Basil asked Fidget.

Fidget shook his head.

"Olivia, we must return to Baker Street and I'll find out where this cog comes from. But first we must free Fidget." He put the cog in his pocket, and picked out a tooth pick isntead. He pushed it into the lock in the cell to open it. He done exactly the same to the wall chains, and Fidget was free.

"Now leave, Fidget. Run far away from here." Basil advised.

"Basil, I can't thank you enough."

"Just go!" Basil exclaimed.

Fidget took one look at Olivia, and she looked away with hatred. Feeling guilty, Fidget ran off. His body disappeared and faded into the darkness of the hall.

"I don't trust him." Olivia stated.

"Come on, we must hurry."

They both ran as fast as they could out of the cells.
