In the cellar, downstairs was Fievel, chained up, looking miserable beyond belief. His attention was caught by the sound of Ratigan's footsteps. He was carrying, a well injured Miss Kitty. Fievel physically felt sick; he knew exactly what he had done to her.
"I assure this will teach you a lesson." He threw her beside Fievel, cackling. She grunted as her head bumped against the wall. Fievel couldn't do anything to help.
"Leave the woman alone!" He shouted.
"I don't think so." He snickered, coming into the cellar, picking her up again, "If it weren't for me, she would of been living out on the streets at a young age."
"If it weren't for you, my sisters would be alive!" She screamed at him, with a busted lip.
"You sisters got what was coming to them!" He replied, agitated.
"I should of gone to Basil in the first place!"
"Should of, could of. Didn't." He taunted. "I killed your sisters." He said, grinning whilst pulling her closer, "and now, I'm going to kill you." He lifted her higher and walked towards the edge of the cog to push her off. She screamed at the moment her fate had arrived, and he pushed her off the cog. But she was caught underneath by Basil. He caught her in his arms.
"Basil." She said, amazed. She smiled at him.
Ratigan was distressed at the sight of Basil and Olivia out from the cellar.
"Who let them out?!" He screamed. "GET THEM!"
All three of them split up so the thugs wouldn't crowd them in. They were chased high and low all over the clock tower. Olivia finally stopped and pulled out both of her arms, tripping the two thugs up. She picked them both up and smashed their skulls together, knocking them out. They grunted as she did this.
"Olivia!" Fievel called out to her.
She noticed Fievel, and she ran up to the cellar, but as she got to the door, Bill barged in front of her.
"Not so fast, I think you should go back to lover boy." He teased.
"What are you talking about?"
"We all saw you, Miss Flaversham." He shown her the footage of her and Basil making out. "I'm quite amazed you got the Detective out of his shell like that. You must be a special girl. Too bad, Daddy's not here to approve him or not."
The rage built up inside Olivia. She clenched her fist as tight as she could and gave him a whack across the face, pushing him to bump his head off the bar.
"Fuck you, asshole!" She replied, as he fell to the ground in front of her. She stepped over him to free her friend.
"Fievel, thank the lord you're OK." She said with relief, untying him.
Fievel didn't know whether to feel happy or upset. He got to see his best friend again, instead of murdered at the scene but hearing that she kissed Basil broke his heart.
"Olivia, did you really kiss him?" He stood up, same height as her.
Olivia stuttered.
"You love him, don't you?"
There was a long silence. He already knew the answer to that.
"It's a bit complicated."
Fievel took a deep sigh. He took her hand.
"You're my best friend, Olivia. No matter, what your choice is, I will support you a hundred percent. But please don't throw away everything you have worked for." Olivia snatched her hand back.
"Thats all anyone seems to care about." She replied, storming away from him. "Thanks for the thank you for saving you, too." She turned back at him. He ran towards her. Once he caught up to her, he stopped her.
"Another thing, what did he mean that your father wouldn't be here to approve him?"
There was a long silence again.
"They killed him. He's gone."
Fievel's heart shook. He couldn't believe what he heard. Hiram was like a second father to him. He knew him for a long time. To hear that he was gone, broke his heart.
"Olivia, I'm so sorry." He hugged her.
"Come on, Fievel, it's not the right time." She took his hand and they ran to help Miss Kitty and Basil.
With Miss Kitty, she was running up the docks, until she came to a dead end. She was trapped up. She turned around, looking terrified as the look of evil, through Ratigan's henchmen was closing her in, snickering. All three of them pulled out their guns, and aimed it at her. She blocked the sight of it off with her arms. Basil then came from the side of them, kicking them all off cog. But one of the henchman pulled the trigger on one of his guns; it headed for the face of the clock, where it smashed a part of the clock. Parts of the glass came crashing back down. They weren't that big, but to mice, those pieces were massive. They were heading towards Miss Kitty. She looked up at her life flashing before her eyes, but before she knew Basil swooped her off her feet and moved her out of the way, carrying her like a groom would carry his bride. They both looked at the shattered mess that was where they were standing a few seconds ago. Miss Kitty wrapped her arms around Basil- he saved her life once again.
"Thank you, Basil." She kissed his cheek.
He placed her down, embarrassed. He cleaned his throat before he could talk.
"At your service."
Fievel and Olivia approached them.
"That was very brave." Olivia complimented him.
"The party is not over yet!"
They all turned around, there was Professor Ratigan, looking no more than what he truly was: a rat.
"I didn't spend 10 years of my life, hiding just to lose to Basil of Baker Street, ONCE AGAIN!" He shouted.
"You're too late, Ratigan." Basil triumphed. "I here by place you under arrest for the murder of an innocent mouse."
Ratigan cackled. "You and what army, Basil?"
Basil couldn't respond. For a short second, he looked defeated.
"This army!" Fievel spoke up.
"Oh, don't make me laugh." Ratigan replied sarcastically. "I have found your new weak spot though, Basil." All four of them looked confused. "I do believe you and Miss Flaversham here have been getting a bit cosy with each other." He shows them the footage once more. Miss Kitty looked heartbroken. She couldn't believe the mouse of her dreams was falling for a much younger woman. Fievel just puffed. He didn't want to believe that his best friend or love interest was not being reciprocal, but after all, he did know he didn't stand a chance.
"My my." Ratigan taunted, as he strolled slowly towards Olivia, looking her up and down. "Look at you, all grown up."
"Look at you- same old asshole you were ten years ago!" She replied, with hatred.
"Now, now, Olivia. Surely your father brought you up better than to call people that."
She kicked him as hard as she could in the shin.
"How dare you bring him up after what you done." She glared at him, whilst he rubbed his shin to ease the pain away.
"So, you want to be violent. Fine. Have it your way." His anger built up. Olivia's face turned from anger to anxious. With a growl, he picked the lady up. She screamed as he lifted her high above his head.
"NO! Let her go!" Basil shouted, agitated. He jumped on his back to try and make him drop Olivia, but it was no use. With one swish, Basil ended up in the same place he was, only face planting the floor.
Olivia looked down, over the cog where she was aimed. And just like that, Ratigan threw her off the cog. She screamed as she fell, to surprisingly, the same cog she landed on ten years ago. She looked up where another cog was rolling, slowly towards her. She was going to be crushed.
"Olivia!" FIevel cried.
"Basil, do something!" Miss Kitty suggested.
Basil bravely charged towards the big Rat, leaving Miss Kitty and Fievel watch the show. However, somebody familiar turned up from underneath the cog. He secretly followed Basil and Olivia to Ratigan's lair.
"You two, come with me." It was Dawson.
"Dawson, it's you." Miss Kitty said with a relief.
"We don't have much time. We need to get out of here."
Back with Basil. He ran up from behind Ratigan, and summer salted, using Ratigan's head as support. Ratigan let out a grunt as Basil's weight hit him. Basil fell a few feet and landed on a switch which made the chain move up. He quickly stepped on the chain, reaching out his left arm, getting ready to catch Olivia.
It was getting closer and closer. Olivia thought that she was definitely done for this time. But she was proven wrong. Within seconds, she was safe in the arms of Basil of Baker Street. Just in time. At first Olivia was shocked, but couldn't be more happy. Basil smiled at her, happy she was safe.
Ratigan watched them, in anger. He started running up the docks, to chase after them, growling as he reached another cog.
"I have you now!" He muttered under his breath.
Once Olivia and Basil has reached the top, the both took each others hands and ran for their lives. Running out of breath, they both looked back. Nobody was coming. Finally they arrived outside the clock tower, where it was a long way down. Basil looked back again. He knew exactly what was coming.
"He's going to come, isn't he?" Olivia asked.
"It's painfully obvious."
Just then, Basil saw Dawson, Marion, Fievel and Miss Kitty all on a balloon blimp, exactly like the one they made ten years ago. This time, the balloon was only bright blue.
"Basil!" Shouted Dawson.
Basil looked at Olivia.
"Basil, I know what you're thinking. Please don't do this to me again."
"This is between that sewer and I."
"I don't care." Olivia said, almost crying. "I thought I almost lost you ten years ago. I don't want to feel like that again."
"Olivia. Come here." He pulled her face towards his face, going for a kiss, until suddenly he grabbed her by the waist and threw her into the air where the blimp then was. Fievel and Dawson caught her. Olivia was distraught. She couldn't believe he done that. They flew away slightly so she wouldn't try and jump back again.
"Basil! NO! NOOOOOOO!" She burst into tears, and watched him watch them go away slowly and turn around, ready to face his doom.
"Olivia, he'll be fine." Miss Kitty, hugged her, trying to calm her down.
"I can't go through this again, I really can't." Olivia didn't bother to fight out of it.
"My dear child, it's better you, than him." Dawson said, trying to cheer her up.
"You don't understand."
"What don't I understand?"
"I love him."
Dawson couldn't believe his ears.
Back with Basil, Ratigan finally caught up. He approached slowly. His dark shadow, turning into his figure.
"Well, that was very brave, detective. I'm surprised you would return here, considering you almost died here ten years ago."
"Oh, it's not me that's terrified of this spot. It's you." Basil had Ratigan right where he wanted him. He finally got Ratigan to the point where he could pick his weak spots. Ratigan hesitated to come any closer, so the detective was right. "If you're not scared, come closer."
Ratigan hesitated, and had taken the tiniest footsteps ever. Basil grinned.
"Let's be honest, Ratigan, you made this your new lair so you'd think that this was the last place I would come and look for you because you thought I'd thought you'd be too scared to be here, because you almost died here. I can see right through you." Basil got closer to his archenemy. "I may have been proven wrong ten years ago, but that doesn't mean I got the Queen's gratitude for nothing. It doesn't matter if you have one more, 10 or 47 lives; you won't come out alive at the end of it all. You won't be able to stay in hiding for the rest of your life- soon Scotland Yard will notice suspicions and you will get caught."
Ratigan just went silent. No response. Basil nodded, knowing he was right. Suddenly Ratigan lunged at Basil and picked him up and held him close his body. Basil struggled to get out. Ratigan walked with him towards the edge.
"NO!" Olivia called in the distance.
Ratigan grinned as an idea came to mind. He decided to use Olivia as a weapon.
"If I were you Basil, I wouldn't think of defeating me. I'd be more interested in your loved ones, especially Miss Flaversham. She seems to have grown quite fond of you."
"That's got nothing to do with anything, Ratigan!"
"No? Oh well, have it your way. Let's finish off where we left, ten years ago."
Ratigan then leaped off of Big Ben, holding Basil in his arms. They both tumbled down the clock until they both landed on the minute hand on the face. Basil finally escaped from Ratigan's arms, was too dizzy to stand up straight away. Although he knew exactly where he was. Just then Basil remembered his fathers sword. He stood up and pulled it out of his pocket.
"Alright, if you want to continue, be my guest."
Ratigan growled and pulled out his larger sword from his pocket.
In the distance, on the balloon blimp, Marion was holding on to Olivia, trying to console her.
"Please do something, anybody. Please Doctor Dawson." She pleaded with tears swooping down her face.
The two began sword fighting. One blocking, one after the other, lunge after lunge. Ratigan was just pushing Basil backwards, towards the edge of the hand.
"I think we should get closer, dear." Marion told her husband.
Basil hopped on to the hill on the minute hand. Ratigan kept pushing him back and back until Basil had reached the edge. Basil tried to balance himself, but no use, he fell off the edge. Just to make sure, Ratigan went to the edge of the hand- there was no sign of Basil. Ratigan cackled in his glory, when suddenly, Basil legs swung up, grabbed Ratigan by the neck and then let him go.
Ratigan fell, screaming into the mist.
Basil watched his arch rival, disappear. However, he did not smile- for he was proven wrong the first time, he may be proven wrong once again. Suddenly, Basil's paws begin to slip. He fell off the hand and fell into the night. Luckily his good ol' friends caught him on the balloon blimp.
"Thank you, Dawson o' chap." Basil sighed in relief.
"I'll always have your back, Basil."
Basil smiled and then looked at Olivia. Her face was completely blank. He got up and approached her.
"Olivia, I-" He was going to hug her, but she just turned away from him, looking completely cross. "Olivia?" She crossed her arms, and didn't respond to him. He looked at the rest of his friends, they looked completely clueless as well.
"Olivia, what's the matter?" Still nothing. He got in front of her so they were face to face. "Olivia, please let me in on what's the matter." Finally, she looked at him. Her sky eyes, meeting his emerald green eyes. She did not look happy at all. She did look at him, however didn't award him with words.
"Is this about what we spoke about earlier?"
Olivia tutted.
She didn't speak to him until they were back at Baker Street in his flat.
