The 71st Hunger Games

Chapter 17:

I quickly put on some white jeans and a plain red t-shirt. Ablothia is waiting for me by my door.

"Where's Lazail?" I ask. Not that I care about him. "Everyone else is waiting for you in the dining room," Ablothia replies. She squeals in excitement as she takes my hand and starts walking. I roll my eyes and pull my hand out of her grip. She sighs louder than she wanted to so she covers her mouth and mumbles sorry. I grin evilly as we make our way to the dining room, I'm not completely sure why. Maybe it's because Ablothia just embarrassed herself. Through the corner of my eye, I can see that her cheeks are red. It could be Make up though, she wears so much of it. I hear laughing and cutlery scraping plates. As I enter the dining room, I remember I am still grinning evilly. I stop grinning and sit down next to Lazail. Please don't sit next to me! I think to myself as Ablothia walks up to the table. She pulls out the chair next to me and sits down. Damn! The smell of her perfume is so strong, it gives me a headache.

I eat until I'm completely full. I suddenly remember that The Games start tomorrow.

"Are you okay? You look really pale," Lazail asks.

"Well does it look like I'm fine?!" I demand. Before Lazail gets the chance to answer, I storm off.

Later that evening, someone knocks on the door. "Who is it?" I hiss.

The person hesitates before replying "Umm... It's just me," says Lazail.

I get off the bed and open the door. "What do you want?" I grumble.

"To see if you're okay. You were acting really angry," he replies.

"I wasn't acting! Don't you remember The Games start tomorrow?" I shout.

"I know," Lazail sighs "well, see you tomorrow."

"Bye." Just before I slam the door shut, I see Lazail frown. I better get some rest before The Games. I change my clothes and get into bed. I drift off into a peaceful sleep, which is surprising bearing in mind The Hunger Games start tomorrow.
