Part 12

Jennie's P.O.V.

The next day I have realized I had more friends than I thought I did. I thought I wasn't friends with Mina anymore, but turns out I was wrong. When I had seen Cheng Xiao in the first day of school, I thought, there is no heck of a way I will be friends with this weirdo. And I was barely friends with Tzuyu when I first met her. But I was wrong about those too.

I realized Tzuyu was now my best friend after Jisoo. We were so close, and she told me how even though we became friends quite long after we first met, she felt like she was closer to me than people like Sana or Momo that she hung out with since the very first school day. I felt flattered - not even Jisoo was this nice to me, she argued with me for no reason and made me feel bad at times, no matter how much I loved her. She had her flaws, just like everyone else - Tzuyu also had flaws, but she was one of my best friends, and we haven't even known each other in so long. Jisoo always told me how she doesn't want to get close to anyone new because they don't seem friendly enough, but it was just Jisoo's personality - it was hard to impress her.

"Come on", I said in the first day of school. "Let's try to befriend her. She is pretty indeed, but I don't think she's self-centered even if she wears all of those...expensive clothes."

I didn't really believe in what I said back then; I also felt slightly uneasy about the new pretty foreign girl coming and taking over everything, but it wasn't that bad. When Lisa came, she was also given a lot of attention considering the fact that she was foreign and blonde, and it was the same with Tzuyu for a few days, but she became like the other girls quite soon. As I thought of that, the image of Tzuyu on the first day of school came to my mind.

Her white crop top shirt that showed her abs and made all boys drool (including the ones that had girlfriends), her black loose but pretty pants and her black Rick Owens boots that I found ugly but looked incredibly beautiful on her. The next day, she came wearing Yeezys, and the next next day, she wore the Balenciaga sneakers that everyone was desperate to buy. Dang, I thought, how much money does this girl have? 

I haven't talked to her for a month after school had started, but when Irene threw a big pool party, I decided to talk to her for the first time and I've realized how nice she actually was. Soon we became best friends. 

"You know that moment when you hate everyone but you have that one friend that you always get along with and you know you can trust", she said, and laughed. I agreed with her. She wasn't the only friend I trusted - there was also Lisa, Rose, Jisoo and Irene, but I still trusted her too. Since she was popular - about as popular as Sana and Momo - I could ask her to help me with Yoongi. She had recently gotten in a fight with Sana, so all she could wish for was that her and Yoongi broke up, which was obviously going to happen soon since Yoongi always flirted with other girls and acted like he liked them. Not long ago there was an entire drama created over Yoongi and Tzuyu flirting that got Sana really mad, so Tzuyu had nothing to do but wish that they broke up so she could be free to flirt with him. She didn't like him, but flirting was one of her hobbies, so getting rid of his supposedly annoying girlfriend was a point for her.

Not that it wouldn't have been one for me too.

I always tried not to insult Sana hiding behind the excuse that she's my friend, but fuck it. He left me because he fell for her. He hurt me because of her and therefore, she hurt me. She tried to make me jealous, and went too far. On purpose. So I had the right to hate on her as much as I wanted.

And oh, how much I would've wanted them to break up now.

And oh, how much I resented her.

However, I have decided to tell Tzuyu about my crush on Yoongi.

"So...uh..." I began hesitatingly as I picked up Tzuyu's call.

"Who is it?" she asked, curiously.

"I...kind of...have a crush on..."

I took a deep breath and waited for a few long seconds. Come on, she's your friend. You can trust her. Just...say it.

"Yoongi", I said, and exhaled powerfully.

I heard nothing for a few seconds.

"Tzu-"

"Jennie", she interrupted me, each syllable of my name that she pronounced sounding dramatic. "Jennie!"

"What?!" I burst, suddenly feeling extremely nervous and sweating heavily. "Sana is there next to you, she heard everything and she hates me now. Right?"

"She isn't", Tzuyu laughed, giving me instant relief. "I'm in Taiwan, remember?" 

"Oh, exactly", I said, starting to feel better about the situation. "Well, you're going to keep the secret and not let me down. You promise?"

"I promise", she confidently responded.

But my mistake to have believed her.
